I'm a moderate and I know all about what Fox News does (I think all media outlets do it too!), but this gave me a whole new respect for them. Also, Hannity and Colmes calll this fundaMENTAList to task as well - hats off to them to! If I could, I'd buy them lunch! The steaks are on me!

Why ? Every Media outlet has brought this lady and her group on at one time or another. And they have all got into an argument with them because there position is indefensible and disgusting to all rational people.
Fox was simply posturing for there audience. It was good to see them on the side of homosexuals for a change. Although it was not intentional. They were defending the solders right to a dignified funeral not the dignity of homosexuality.
When they acknowledge that all people should have the same rights regardless of sexual orientation then perhaps I'll have a new found respect for Fox News.
When they argue with the same voracity for the rights of all people regardless of political or sexual orientation Fox News will have come a long way to earn my respect.

No.
Fox did a great deal to create the fulminating treason that is Westboro Baptist Church. Fox has systematically divided America along lines that enabled and facilitated Phelps and his merry band of traitors to disgrace themselves by denigrating American soldiers and marines.
There is nothing that Fox can do to repair the damage that they have inflicted. Even the most rabid conservative could see that Phelps is not on their side...Phelps is not on the side of any American...and neither is Hannity.
That's right. Do the research. Hannity has worshipped at Westboro Baptist Church. Moreover, Fox gave Phelps a bully pulpit on their network.
Why? Well it's not because Rupert Murdoch suddenly decided when he woke up this morning to serve God rather than Mammon. Let's be real: Phelps and Hannity and Colmes deserve to be dropped into a very deep, very dark hole and left there.

No I do not. While I do applaud them standing up to these idiots it is important to remember that FOX news are the only ones who even give these idiots air time. They have been upset all along with these clowns attacks on US soldiers and I applaud that. The interview you linked us to was about as close as they have come to defending those who these attacks are really against.
It may be a baby step in the right direction but I still don't think I can stomach sitting through lunch with the FOX folks.

Taking a stand against crazies like that is like taking a stand against child molesters, no one would ever say that's wrong. So my respect for Fox news remains the same, as does my respect for the news as a whole. In the toilet. Fox news should never give that woman the attention she so desperately craves anyway.

Respect is earned by doing difficult things. Getting someone like that on and ripping them apart is not difficult. I mean, would you applaud them for saying that Hitler was a genocidal maniac? No.
I'd respect a news organisation much more for asking difficult questions (i.e. unpopular ones) to popular people. After all, any news organisation should be about getting the truth not about being a mouthpiece for their guests.

Nothing I like better than reasonable, thoughtful discourse.
The Fox Talking Head Lady should have just let the Church Lady speak, her own words are the best argument against her position.

How the hell can someone be filled with such hatred and think they are doing Gods work?

When you are buying lunch for Hannity, make sure it is at Ruth's Chris!!
I have always had respect for Fox News. They at least show things that the "mainstream" (liberal) media will not.

That lady is an absolute nutcase. She is crazy. I applaud that news journalist for reprimanding that lady. How rude of her to say and do those things. Protesting at a funeral and saying that people are going to hell for fighting for their country is total bs. Final word. That lady just looks crazy and deprived of life.
