Sad, isn't it?
We live across the street from a park/house/preserve dedicated to WW2....but they honor every date in history that is significant for soldiers. It's quite beautiful to listen to the music each time. My son and I were outside listening a little while ago, and I got to teach a 6 year old about sacrifice, and freedom.

Because apparently all we care about is Paris Hilton being in jail and Bob Barker taping his final Price is Right.
Days like the D-day invasion, Pearl Harbor and Veteran's Day should never be forgotten! Our country wouldn't be where we are today without days like these.
Thank you to all military personnel and their families for their sacrifice.

American news media is EATEN UP with anti-war...to much so to recognize heroes who helped drive the Nazis into surrender with their lives.
Also casulties were many times MORE than nowadays...we lost MORE American soldiers at the Normandy Invasion in ONE DAY than we have in years of fighting in Iraq.
