This might be a stupid question. The quote that i heard was that he said "nappy headed ho's" I don't know the context of what he was talking about, but how did it become a racial issue? I didn't know that white people or other races couldn't be nappy headed ho's. Is it only because he refered to a team that is mostly black and he is a white guy?

Is Imus out of line saying something like that or is Sharpton making something out of nothing?

Was it actually racist? Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson say more racist things then that. I think this is being blown out of proportion.

We've recently seen the news of Imus and in New York trying to ban the N-word. Is there a double standard when it comes to what we say that may be deemed as racial slurs? Were you offended by what Imus said and do you think that banning the N-word will work? Hip hop obviously plays a big influence here.

Should those who are in the public eye (celebrities, news journalists, etc.) be held LEGALLY responsible for their actions that any other joe schmo would only get so much as a verbal reprimand from their peers and not suffer any consequences?

What I mean is every story you read or see in the news today is spun one way or another so that you see the journalists point of view. What happened to let the story tell itself and the people can decide for themselves what to think.

The entire story disappeared as soon as it appeared! Did they ever have a trial? Did Devlin admit anything? What was he charged with? Did Shawn ever tell what happened to him? And - what piercings did Shawn have?

Ok so black people can rap and talk crap about themselves but its more offensive when someone else that isnt black does? I think this is just ANOTHER way to bring up racism and its dumb. We all make mistakes get over it.

Here's the thing: I don't like Don Imus. But is his comment toward the ladies on the basketball team any worse than the derogatory things we hear in Rap music? I haven't heard an outrage about THAT, yet Rap music is played across the country, and it says all sorts of sexist things about women. Why aren't there people picketing recording studios, or radio stations who play rap? Because, dispite the fact the spin on this has been that the comment is "racist" AND "sexist", the true uprising about Imas pertains to the "racist" comment. Do you agree?
