Don Imus made a racist statement against some student athletes who contended for the highest title in college women's basket ball. He should be ashamed. At the level he is at, and with the influences he has he should be silenced. Adam "Pac-Man" Jones was suspended for a year from the nfl for making it rain in a strip club. Imus, should not be fired, but banned from radio for a period of about 24 months. He should also be required to go to sensitivity training as well as pay a fine.

What Imus said was wrong -- really wrong. But how can we expect punishment for him, when it is apparently okay for every hip-hop artist out there to say the same sort of things (and worse) on every CD they put out? Isn't that just as bad?

Besides being kicked around in the media, being suspended for 2 weeks, having to do many, many public apologies, going on the air with Al Sharpton, and losing tons of advertizers? What more can he do? Leave him alone, he's had enough punishment, and I'm sure he's learned a lesson.

Understand that I say this having no idea what it was he said,
(because I have better things to do than to pay attention to that kind of crap unless it has directly to do with me.)
but I still say this with the probability intact that it was more than likely blown out of proportion, meant as a joke and shouldn't be made as big a deal of, by anyone...
Especially those people who feel the same exact way... and don't have the balls to admit it.
"Everyone has sinned, all have fallen short of the glory of God."
Funny how those who are supposedly made in His image... still decide on a daily basis to send people to the lions and dogs and actually take pleasure in watching them hurt and squirm and suffer for making a mistake.
Every man is entitled to their opinion... Right or wrong But... everyone should treat even those they don't like with respect publically... It is a far better practice. and if you don't want to know... you shouldn't listen. That is his only sin... not keeping it out of the public's ear.
What... you don't think that any black people anywhere, ever speak badly about whites? It doesn't make it right... It makes it unfortunate that people can't ever just accept it as something that is a man's own opinion and just move on about their business... It should hold no bearing on what is right and wrong or should be said or not.
"It is none of your business what I think of you, and it is none of mine what you think of me." That should be made a rule in life...
Intelligent people understand that, and don't set out for blood lust lynching in mobs for I am CERTAIN... that every single person judging him. Has at one time or another done the very same thing... If not worse.
Human beings are apes at best... with no social conscience and no honesty in ther hearts... Things like this make that fact painfully apparent.

Nothing. What he said was an innocuous joke - tame in comparison to things said every day by others. It's manufactured offense. The people claiming to be offended aren't really offended. They either are making it up, or feel they "should" be offended because everyone is telling them how "vile and disgusting" the words are.
Please..... are we really that weak-willed and spineless?

I think what's happening to him right now is pretty good. All of his sponsors are pulling out. He can't air his garbage without money. And he's getting raked over the coals by many people from many walks of life. I think this will affect him, and hopefully change him, more than anything else. Everything he's achieved is going in the toilet.

Two week time out.
Write an essay how Freedom of Speech means a white person can't say certain things or use certian words.
That only black people can say those things.

He's going through it right now. I disagree with the two week suspension, but he choosing to serve it with dignity. He's a better person and man than those who are choosing to "shoot him down."
