What I mean is every story you read or see in the news today is spun one way or another so that you see the journalists point of view. What happened to let the story tell itself and the people can decide for themselves what to think.

Being the very demanding reader that I am, I can clearly see your point, but, having the pleasure of reading and answering your question says to me that, as long as someone, such as you, is asking such a question, "hope is eternal" in that the idea (at least) of ethics in journalism isn't totally out of the picture. Thank you for showing me that "hope is not lost" with respect to honest journalism. I may not see it's return to practice in my lifetime, but there are my kids, and maybe grandkids, to pray for better journalism in their time. God Bless you.

I doubt that things have changed much over the history of journalism. Sensationalism still sells newspapers, after all, and probably always did. Editorials and weekly news summaries often contain the views of the senior journalist editing them, but that doesn't prevent folks from making up their own minds.
Even the stories that appear to be deliveries of the cold facts have some slant in them that keeps them from becoming too dull to complete reading, if the wordsmith knows his or her trade.
