do you believe he should be punished forever for his actions? He made a bad choice, but doesn't an entire career mean anything?

The media is playing us. Nobody cared that Imus was saying things like this before now. Conspiracy?

I watched the Imus thing and while I was offended I didn't think that he should lose his job. He was just saying what a lot of white people think anyway. He wasn't saying to attack, eliminate or kill black women.

if anyone has seen Stern's A&E biography they would have heard him say that "all cancer patients should just give up because they're gonna die anyway." So why are Imus' remarks any better than that? So what that H. Stern is on XM Radio now... he can say whatever he wanted... why can't Don Imus?

In no way do i respect what Mr. Imus said or stands for but I believe the world is taking comments to heart way too much. I mean, yea he said something he shouldn't of said. Okay i understand that what he said was flat out rude. However, what if Howard Stern (the radio guy, not Anna Nicole Smiths guy) says something like this. I think people may have found the statement amusing because the general public is used to Howard Stern doing stupid stuff. Also, however bad Mr. Imus's comments were they are just comments. "Sticks and stones can break my bones......" Even when Billy Packard said that some guy (can't remember his name) "fagged out" there was nothing homophobic about that statement so why does he get into trouble. Does anyone think that Don Imus is getting treated so badly because of who he is? As before, what if Howard Stern says something as idiotic as what Imus said I don't think people would care as much and be. This is just a thought.

Is there any special equipment I need? Does Radio Shack have it? Go to hell MSNBC! I will never watch NBC again and I will boycott the sponsors who dropped him. Am I the only one who sees the blacks being the ones who wanted him fired? Are they happy now? Imus will indeed go to these radio stations where he can practice his freedom of speech. Take your rappers and FO you hypocrites. Solidarity forever!

He called people a ho. Gee its not like thats in every rap song is it? He used "nappy hair". Gee its not like every black comedian dedicated part of his act to black steroetypes is it? Alright he insulted girls he never met that was wrong, but why is everyone getting so upset and crying racism and sexism. Why can people call Bush Hitler, but thats ok. You can equate the leader of our country with arguably the most evil man in history without repercussion. But yet what Imus said is "shocking and appaling". Why can blacks call each other hos and make fun of themselves but no1 else could? Why can Snoop and 50 cent and all those degrade women in their songs but not Imus. You say Imus is public....well then turn the channel. You say rap CDs have warnings. And im sure 50 cent's target audience is 25 yrs and older right? They arent selling to kids are they? lol. Why is Jesse Jackson, Sharpton, etc getting involved? When they call Bush Hitler should I get involved cuz Im a republican?

I personally think that Don Imus should not have said what he said, but I think MSNBC was a little drastic when they dropped simulcasting his show. I've seen his show a few times, but never really sat down and watched it until after the accusations started going around. I think that this has gone a bit too far in the media. What do you think?
