He called people a ho. Gee its not like thats in every rap song is it? He used "nappy hair". Gee its not like every black comedian dedicated part of his act to black steroetypes is it? Alright he insulted girls he never met that was wrong, but why is everyone getting so upset and crying racism and sexism. Why can people call Bush Hitler, but thats ok. You can equate the leader of our country with arguably the most evil man in history without repercussion. But yet what Imus said is "shocking and appaling". Why can blacks call each other hos and make fun of themselves but no1 else could? Why can Snoop and 50 cent and all those degrade women in their songs but not Imus. You say Imus is public....well then turn the channel. You say rap CDs have warnings. And im sure 50 cent's target audience is 25 yrs and older right? They arent selling to kids are they? lol. Why is Jesse Jackson, Sharpton, etc getting involved? When they call Bush Hitler should I get involved cuz Im a republican?

It's an example of mainstream American media at its best (or worst). What's on the cover of major magazines? Darfur? Oil Prices? War News? Community Events? No, the news they show is celeberities who do or say anything that they consider out of the ordianry, and you know what Rutgers Basketball team is a bunch on nappy headed ho's. But no one cares that i said it because I'm not famous and that is just the fact of the matter. Besides what happened to freedom of speech? Imus has the right to an opinoin and so does everyone else.
The media is shuning Imus because they really care about African American rights. Yeah lol. They are beating this thing to death because it sells. So why do rappers get away with what Imus can't? because of sterotyping. They are sterotyped as people who swear and degrade people. Why should they get away with what normal people like me and you and (somewhat) Don Imus. That is what the real problem is.

It is only a big deal because a white man said it , you do not hear jesse jackson apologising for his comments on those la cross players , you do not hear him or al sharpton apologising for nothing they do or say , but let one white person say a word about blacks and they want them hung . I think the next time a black comedian calls a white person a cracker I am going to sue ,and ask that comedian be fired , I am a Mixed breed /(Caucasian)/ Native American and should be addressed as such ...seems like minorities want to be able to do and say anything they want (( free speech)) but Others can not .... and somehow they say it is being equal . I see everyone for who they are , and personally I would love to invite jesse ,and al to my town ,I will takae them over to the old motel and pay 25.00 for them to hook up with the nappy head ho's so they can chill the fk out .....and I am not calling them that as a racist remark either , that is what everyone ((including them)) call them

Personally i think America is getting tired of the Al Sharptons and Jesse Jacksons jumping around screaming racism and discrimination over nothing at all. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have harmed race relations more than anything.

yeah usually in rap vidoes/ rap songs, they call the women around them hos because they are hos. Shakin their stuff with their butt cheeks hangin out.. they are ho's they are given up something that should be personal and private, for a few dollars just to be on camera. When they say ho, they are referring to the girl around the corner on welfare with 5 different baby dadies, or the hos on maury povich when maury says" you are not he father", or the ho who is literally standing on the corner hoin'. I have not heard all of the rap songs, but I have never heard a rapper call Halle berry a ho, oprah winfrey a ho, condi rice a ho, hillary clinton a ho, the first lady a ho, so there is a difference in the black community and the community of hip hop. Women who respect themselves or have become a doctor, attorney, teacher etc are not considered hos. Women in the black community that are in these videos, trying to get rich off sports figures or entertainers, goldiggers, those are the hos. The reason people are upset at Imus is because he used that term for young women who are educated and have achieved alot in their life so far. Now if he called that duke stripper a ho, I would not be upset, because her history demonstrates what type of person she is. But to put these basketball players in the same category as a golddigger, hoochie, or one of those hos on maury povich, is the worse insult you could give to a female.

His problem was he directed that slur at a group of people, who failed to earn that distinction. If he had described a group he had seen being busted by the Police or had offered a public sales pitch, to him. That slur may have been excepted, on the basis of his being a shock jock. all others are race baiters for public self interest.
