I personally think that Don Imus should not have said what he said, but I think MSNBC was a little drastic when they dropped simulcasting his show. I've seen his show a few times, but never really sat down and watched it until after the accusations started going around. I think that this has gone a bit too far in the media. What do you think?

I don't care for the man, but I think him being fired was way beyond what should have happened.

It was wrong what he said but:

I can hardly believe that all of the girls on that team, and the couch and all the people involved in this matter, have never made a bad remark about another person, white or black.

I am sure if you researched their lives you would find plenty there to call them hypocrites.

An incredibly stupid thing was said by an otherwise intelligent man. Now a lot of others with varying degrees of intelligence are keeping the fires burning.

I don't care for Imus' brand of humor, I think it is mean spirited. He has apologized, and has been suspended for two weeks. That seems like an appropriate punishment. Hopefully he will make amends for his mistake when he returns to the air, he deserves the chance to try.

MSNBC's decision to no longer simulcast his show is also appropriate. Their credibility was/is on the line, looks like they gave careful thought to the matter and then made their decision. Considering how many others have merely made "knee-jerk" reactions this was refreshing to observe.

Now it is to be hoped that the same ethical standards that are being enforced upon Imus will be applied to all of the other "shock jocks" out there, beginning with Howard Stern but including all of the rest regardless of their ethnicity or gender. I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for that to happen though.

Absolutely correct! It's stupid for dropping the Imus in the Morning show! I think I need to find out who to complain about with all the jokes and sarcasm made against the whites. It's all over the cable! But then....I would be going against the constitution for the right of Freedom of Speech. I swear! I don't know what this world is coming to. I hope Imus gets a better offer than he's ever had before and I hope he makes it bigger than he's ever made it before. Oh, and by the way... I don't think what he said was nice but after all it was only a joke and he did apologize for it.

People need to start taking this type of language a LOT more personally. Not only from Imus, but the sickening rap music that young males listen to from an early age -- denigrating women at almost every turn. I'd like to wash all their mouths out with soap!!!

What do I think? I think it is censorship. I think it is an affront to free speech protected by our Constitution. I think it reflects that 'mainstream media' isn't doing their job, but instead monitoring public opinion and spinning it to mold their interests, not those of the American public.

I not only think, but have decided to buy a KIA SUV instead of a GM SUV. I am not only going to leave home without American Express, I am going to cut it up and NEVER buy any of their services again. I am going to buy from Office Depot instead of Staples. I am going to use Great Value products from Wal*Mart instead of Proctor & Gamble and absolutely purchase coffee from ImusRanchProducts.com instead of Bigelow Tea (I think that can all go into Boston Harbor again - can't wait for Al Gore to show up and cry about that!)

I think Don Imus is a good man, that did a thing he has said over and over was "stupid" and he owes an apology ONLY to the Rutger's girl basketballers - not Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and certainly not Oprah!

I think that MSNBC is NADA without the I-man! Their loss. I think XM radio should sign a multi-million dollar contract with him as soon as legally possible.

I think there are a lot of kids who have been, are or will be either very sick - or very lucky to be helped by the Imus Ranch or other children's charities including SIDS research organization.

I think everyone who believes in free speech should stand up for Don Imus, free speech and do so by making the biggest donation they can to his telethon which STARTED TODAY and has raised millions and millions for years and years now.

I think everyone, ESPECIALLY Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson should look in the mirror and say, "Forgive me my debts, as I forgive my debtors."

Can I get an amen from the Reverends of Rhetoric? I doubt it.

What if it was a black celebrity making remarks about white people? Oh, wait, they do that all the time. And nothing is done about it. It should be that either NOBODY can make remarks like that, or EVERYONE can.

As for the person that mentioned burning the confederate flag, what about burning the Cuban, Mexican, and every other flag that people fly here in the US? Either it's the American flag ONLY or EVERYONE can fly the flag of their choice.

He is definitely not racist. Everyone is going way too far on this. Isn't everyone getting tired of having to always be politically correct?! So he called them "nappy headed hos". I bet he got that from some black show, person, ect. If Imus was black, do you think it would have caused such problems? People need to relax, and not take things so personally.

Damn these rappers have influenced everyone...........maybe imus should become a ganstar rapper then and only then he can reserve the rights to say words like bitches and hoes and what ever else he feels like saying, but if he wants to be broadcast on public news radio, where he is sponsored by giant companies like procter and gamble, maybe he should learn to keep his mouth shut......keep all his racial slurs between him and his close friends....

Who cares what Imus said! We say what we want to say and noone has the right to tell us what to say and what not to say. People that are offended have issues with themselves and need to get over those issues. It's called Moving On! The media also fuels these fires ..they create and dictate what we see and hear. They create the circus we see and give a platform to those who are HAS BEENS!
