It seems that every day another gay man is murdered in some hick village... but where is the news media?

Why is the civil rights movement considered over and done with by the mainstream media?

The answer is, she's not...why the media portrays her life as having more depth *cough* or importance reaches far beyond my cranial capacity. I guess that's from all my logic crammed inside.

Honestly, celebrities are put above the law, and lives, of all other beings. No one "cares" about gays, because there is nothing to...envy? shall I say, and moreover, the common ignorant response turns out to be, "well, there's nothing I can do". Oh no? How about never buying trash magazines, nor watching trash news? That's all it is, trash. Basura, if you will.

Unbelievable, and with all the attention I pay into NOT hearing these things, I STILL knew. That's how much it gets shoved in our faces! Sickening I tell you...but you knew that already.

To anyone holding a REAL concern, check out the Human Rights Campaign. They are a wonderful resource for the advocacy of gay rights. How one puts the other over-or under-the "value" of life perplexes and disturbs me. ~N

Nothing really. She died from accidental overdose...it happens all the time. There are so many people in the world that worship celebs and its sickening. I have a 7 month old baby girl and my biggest fear is that when she is old enough to attend school, I don't think I would be able to send her to a public school. Kids are so bad these days...they carry guns, kill people, get pregnant at 12...its horrible! She will either have to go to a private school or I will home school her.

The news media carrys topics that appeal to the mass majority. I dont think topics on gay people appeals to the mass majority. Civil Rights and Gay Rights arent even in the same catagory.

She was considered a celebrity and that case had to do with possibly over 500 million dollars. The mass media feels tha Celebrity+Money= ratings. It's wrong but that's how it works.

Absolutely nothing. Nothing special at all.
She is (was) dumb and America loves dumb. American Idol, dancing with the stars, greys anatomy,,,,,We love our shows, movies and news as retarded as possible.
I agree with the hate crimes comments and civil rights movements not getting play. But thats news. They pick and discuss what Americans want for ratings. ....and thats stupidity.

Hey, this is America. Where else could a war and a dead playmate be on equal media footing?
