Just another example of our society bending over and letting Sharpton and Jackson run the freakin' country. God forbid, let's not piss off the racist pigs. Let's let them play the race card. I've heard worse come from the mouths of blacks toward all other races. This is nothing but bullshit. Don't forget, these two SOB's wanted the heads of the three Duke Lacrosse players. A rush to judgment as I recall!! Well we all know how that turned out today. And whats going to be done with that piece of cow dung that lied about being raped??

It's too bad that they rushed to drop him before some good things could come from it. MSNBC just bowed to the pressure of the sponsors. It was a business decision on their part, not a moral one. I think that at least Imus should have met with the RU team a few times and let some healing take place there. So far it seems that the whole nasty incident has opened up a general discussion of racism in this country, which is entirely healthy. I hope that continues and that Imus can continue to be a part of that somehow.

Good and bad. It's good in that it shows everyone that advertisers will not sponsor programs that espouse bigotry. Without advertising revenue generated by the show, the network will have to drop the program anyway regardless how they (the network execs) feel about the offense.
It's bad in that the right wingers may be pulling strings behind the whole protest movement. Yes, such an irony but as bigoted as Imus definitely sounded in his remarks and he does indeed need to be sanctioned; he's really being bamboozled because he backs the democratic side over the republican in the current contest. Getting rid of Imus will really benefit the Republicans more than anyone else.
It's a very convoluted and complex scheme but that's high-power politics for you!

Hi,
My name is Eric and I just wanted to express my feelings on this matter. I honestly do not believe that Imus should be taken off the air. I am not saying that what he did wasn't wrong, I say this for the matter of principle.
What he did was far from professional and far from right. There is definitely severe punishment needed, but being fired is far from right. I can go on the television at almost any given time of the day or night and find minorities bashing white people. I am not a racist, nor have I ever been. I get along with everyone, but I hate it when people abuse stuff like this. Imus had a comedic centered show, just like many others in the business. If he is to be cancelled, then so should all the minority shows that make racist jokes and comments about white people. I suppose that is too much to ask, though. God forbid we actually stick up for everyone. Heck, Dave Chepelle's show is 90% centered on white bashing. What about Chris Rock? I suppose that is ok though, right Al Sharpton??!.
Who gave African Americans, Hispanics and other minorities the right to say whatever they want and not be persecuted just because of their minority status? I AM SICK OF OUR SOCIETY BEING LIKE THIS!!!! Every time Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson get involved, people expect persecution to the fullest extent!! Now let's put the shoe on the other foot. Every those guys are involved with a minority being persecuted for something, we are once again the ones being racist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How right is that??? Who is the racist in this situation??? Oh yeah, I forgot... they have said some pretty bad things in their past too. But that's ok, isn't it.
I think this was a horrible decision by your MSNBC. When does the race card end?? Never??
If they are men of God, then act like it! Men of god are there for all people, regardless of color. Abuse of power is all this boils down to. I mean this on Imus's part too. I just think that firing him is not the right thing to do.
I know the Lord knows what kind of people they really are.

There is no good reason for anyone to be a racist and just
because a slip of the tongue, we have this mess. I would lay
odds that Jesse and Al have done just as bad if not worse,
but the hypocritical nature of people only see the 'bad' in
the other person. So my answer would be ....we all need
a harness for our tongue more often than not...don't drop the show. but remember people are listening somewhere and
they don't deserve to have their feelings hurt.

Before the unwarranted attention he apparently got, I thought Ismus was a misspelling of a narrow body of land.

He got what he deserves. He was looking for a BIG audience, and opened his mouth for ratings, nothing more!! These "talk" show guys need to "police" their remarks, instead of inflaming the public.

I'm upset, because , thanks to the liberal media another man has lost his job. Rossie should be hounded by the media until she is fired from the view. I don't support what he said, but I support freedom of speech and giving a person a chance to apologize, which he did.
