No, Imus should not be fired. He apologized and enough is enough. Get over it and let's move on...Thank you...

It is unfortunate that at times our tongue works faster than our brain. If Imus would have stopped and thought about what he was saying he would not have said it. He has apologized for his "brain fart" / mistake. Shouldn't that be good enough? If we were to lash out at everyone who said something that offended another person...well no one would be receiving a paycheck right now. So to answer your question no I do not feel he should be fired. For those who do think he should lose his job.... Are you so perfect that you have never spoken out of place and said something you wished you hadn't? Or done something on your job that you could have gotten fired for but didn't? Give the man a break...he made a mistake. Plus, if you take away his lively hood all the "good" he does with the money that he makes will no longer be done. Is thousands of dollars of good acts worth losing over one mistake/bad act?

I agree with Jennifer. He shouldn't be fired. Let his sponsers do what sponsers do when they find that they are sponsering an unpopular show. I never was much of a fan, but I will probably make it a point not to watch Imus again. I don't want to know people that would say things like that even in jest or in private. His own demeanor during his "period of contrition" is going to do him in, I'm afraid. Very disappointing.

No. I want him back on the air because I'm curious to see if he loses his audience. In addition, he has a right to say what he wants. Hopefully his "fans" will lose interest in him now and exercise their right to change stations. Imus has always been a mean-spirited bully, and he deserves to be mercilessly picked on for a change. Personally, I'm enjoying his public humiliation.
