Unfortunately, there are no riots or murders to distract the media. This has been blown way out of proportion.

Yes there are, and there are those of us concerned about those too.

I hate the Springer show, but Jerry Springer never said this about anyone. I will even begrudgingly say that Imus is not racist, but he said something that was racist and sexist and just plain hurtful.

The man should have been looking at the game, not focusing on what he felt were the short comings of the looks of the Rutgers women.

This is a typical slam at black women. The same thing occurred when Venus and Serena Williams won their first tennis matches.

This is why many black people felt the need, and other kind hearted people as well, to speak.

It is part of a larger issue as well...just as I said before...it is a typical SEXIST thing to judge women for looks only...very few have evolved from this, men and women...

In a perfect world, where I had a lot more control over what was on television, I would remove ALL degrading things from TV, including when Tiffany Pollard nicknamed a guy "White Boy". But this is not the case...these things are attacked as they come...

While those talk shows and judge shows make poor representation for poor blacks, poor whites, people with extreme problems, and America in general (those shows are shown around the world), they have not, YET, specifically called any racial group or women out.

Imus' show did.

Jerry Springer lets idiots behave like idiots, he doesn't call normal human beings "whores". The people degrade themselves in his show, that is called individual rights and responsibility. That was certainly not the case with Imus. the girls study and play basketball. They didn't do anything to be called "whores". I don't even think they remotely look like whores, so I'm not sure why he thought the bad joke even had a foundation as such. If he were sorry, he would have said so immediately after the words came out of his mouth. That was the only way to stop this, not wait for the furor to apologize.

I heard parts of his Al Sharpton interview on Howard Stern yesterday. He was a grovelling idiot. He even called himself a "cracker". What a dope!

As a matter of fact, Jerry Springer has probably had whores on his show and probably didn't even stoop to calling them whores to their face, he probably said "prostitute" instead.

He made a racial comment and he needs to be punished. The people that are saying its not a big deal are obviously not people of color. You wouldn't like it if a black or Latino radio personality made an ugly comment about white people so don't say that its not a big deal. Think before you speak...or type I should say.

Cause people are bored and want something to complain about so they just pick somebody out of the crowd.

I just watched it. There were two teams, both predominantly black. He said he liked one and not the other.
The tattoo and ho and nappy was about the team he didn't like. He said something about the other team being pretty.
Not racist, but old man fixation stuff. A pretty team? wtf?

Please don't compare Imus to Springer. Nobody is lower than Springer. He's more fake than wrestling! LOL!
