Seriously is this the proof we need that Bush lied yet?

Or do we have to invent the time machine and go back to see him lie to be sure?

Why bother to have adverts to stop people drinking too much and driving over Christmas. Why shouldn´t we just have zero tolerence. If you drive, then don´t drink. I like a drink as much as anyone, perhaps more at times, but I don´t drink and drive. Surely by doing that we wouldn´t need a Christmas no drinking campaign each year.. Some people will still drink & drive, but you would know that one drink would be one drink too many.

The McCanns and their Tapas group have had a reunion to "talk tactics". Why they need tactics instead of just telling the truth speaks volumes. Apparently it was held in a hotel last month, just after the reports that 2 of the Tapas group wanted to change their statements. It is unclear whether Diane Webster who is the mother of Fiona Payne attended. She is the woman who contradicted the others by saying that the group were responsible for checking their OWN children. She also didn't move from the table in the Tapas bar after Kate came in screaming " they've taken Madeleine" instead, according to the waiters she just sat there looking scared.
So, suspects and witnesses getting together to talk tactics. My opinion is that this "reunion" was planned so that the Tapas group could tie up lose ends in their fairy tale abduction and svengali Gerry could reassure himself that their was no weak link in the chain of lies, possibly putting on the pressure on any of the group who were wavering

Why didnt they just sell their properties instead of getting deeper and deeper into debt, what is it with these people?

A while ago I was going through the post and found a debt letter about a water bill - I pay my water bill by direct debit so ignored it as it was not in my name - I was a bit suspicious as it was addressed to Mrs then my partners surname - we are not married.

We got another one last week so I called and said nobody of that name lives at this address and in any case I pay my water bill by DD. They said they could not give me any info but assured me baliffs would not be calling - how kind of them!

I am just wondering if someone has made up an ID using our address and my partners surname - I was further confused as it is a water bill and surely Thames Water know I pay by DD using my name?

I am very confused (and a little concerned) has anyone else had this, or something similar happen?

So she's back in the country with a face like a wet weekend wanting us all to feel sorry for her. 'I'm a terrible mother' she wails. True. 'My husband is a really persuasive man' she says. So what? I say. Nobody forced her to spend all that money she got in her insurance payout. Nobody forced her to hide him from the rest of the world. Nobody forced her to keep quiet to her two grieving sons or to keep the news that the dad they adored was actually alive and well. Dad was perfectly happy hiding away, planning how to spend their illgotten gains, mum knew he was alive and well and planning with him but the boys were kept in the dark. How selfish is that?

The sons Mark and Anthony have my deepest symapthy. Everything they had thought about their parents has been smashed to smithereens. Ok they're adults but that makes no difference. I also have to congratulate them for behaving with absolute dignity in all this. My heart goes out to them.

Ann Darwin returned to the UK to turn herself in, so why were so many police resources diverted to arrest her. We read that the Police want to 'turn the screws' on serial child neglectors and MAIN SUSPECTS Kate and Gerry McCann in the forthcoming interviews. It is further reported that detectives will visit the smug pair on Christmas Day. Police want to get the pair, who paid part of their mortgage out of a fund to find their daughter, to crack under questioning and reveal what really happened on May 3rd.

Is the game finally up for the child neglecting duo ?

Okay, one question that I haven't heard any commentary on since the shooting at a megachurch today in Colorado:

1) The church has a security staff?
2) The security staff is armed with guns?
3) A security staff member shoots and kills the suspect?

Point to ponder: Why does a church need security, and why does the church presume it needs 'armed' security?

What hath become of their faith, and believing that God will take care of them. Why do they need to resort to having armed security forces to protect them whilst they worship? God is a god of peace. Is this whole situation a bit of hypocrisy?

Truman's cabinet predicted 725,000 american casualties 200,000 of which would have been deaths and 28 million japanese civillian deaths not including hundreds of thousands of japanese soldier's deaths. Why is it then, that people still believe that the bombing was unethical? Am I wrong in saying that it was the lesser of two evils? Also, why does no one comment on the fact that we killed more japanese with napalm than with the bombs? Is it worse to kill with a gun than with a fist? Or in this case, worse to kill with fire than with a bomb?

Religious vigilantes have killed at least 40 women this year in the southern Iraqi city of Basra because of how they dressed, their mutilated bodies found with notes warning against "violating Islamic teachings," the police chief said Sunday.

Maj. Gen. Jalil Khalaf blamed sectarian groups that he said were trying to impose a strict interpretation of Islam. They dispatch patrols of motorbikes or unlicensed cars with tinted windows to accost women not wearing traditional dress and head scarves, he added.

I've been intentionally ignoring this story because I think the media reaction is horrible. I don't need to see this man being arrested or, watch his every move in the meantime.

My sympathies go out to everyone concerned and it isn't my intent to downplay their situation but, certainly, there are much more important things going on in the world.

I think the media shouldn't have been there in the first place, that they need to pull out and allow the normal police processes to take their course.
