I can't say if it was a race vs. gender issue, but it is disturbing.

Now, not only does Oprah feel that she should tell everyone what to read, what to buy, etc. - she thinks that she should tell people who to vote for.

Some people may think that Oprah is a "genius" (see answer above) but that doesn't give her free license to do whatever she wants. Oprah DOES NOT represent the common voter. Maybe she is intelligent (she did manage to build a strong business empire), but that doesn't mean that she knows what is best for EVERYONE. She should close her school in Africa, keep herself out of politics in America, and stick to the entertainment biz.

It is really upsetting to here that people think because Oprah helps the impoverished young women of Africa to get an education and that she backs Obama that she is racist. Oprah has donated money time and effort to charities and organizations in America...but you forget about that. You guys show how shallow you our in your comments about Oprah. You are the ones who are racist not Oprah. Oprah sees in Obama what every body else sees. The next President of the United States of America

Look at it this way: if she would have decided to support Hillary, the question would be "if Oprah preferred gender oven race", it's a no win situation for Oprah, she did it her way.

Oprah should have ran for president her d@mn self. All of her followers will vote for whoever she's backing and she knows it. She should have kept her mouth shut- she has too much pull in this country as it is.

As far as Hilary goes, atleast we'll have Bill

Esmerelda - how many times have you heard Oprah say "I've made a mistake" - plenty of times - will she be saying that this time? She's not God, although many people think she is- yes the woman has business smarts like no other, but she makes mistakes like everyone else. I think she needs to let people decide for themselves

before everything, it style of feels that for the main section no person is laid low with potential of John Mccain's decision of a working mate and it does not sway somebody's recommendations if its already made up... 2d. i assumed that this exchange into an election against 2 Presidents. i exchange into effective that John Mccain exchange right into a male, as a result its no longer race vs. gender. i'm very bored with seeing people evaluate a accessible vp to a accessible president. I recommend its fairly much as though Sara Palin is working for freaking president because of the fact thats how anybody makes it out to be.

I think Oprah recognizes how damaging Hillary would be to this country. Obama is more moderate than the hard line leftist Hillary is (I know she seems more centrist lately but I think it's an act to get herself elected). He actually has some good ideas. He is one of the Democrats I (as a republican) could vote for. There is no way I could ever vote for Hillary.

Not necessarily. So far he seems to be the only Democrat running with any real standards and vision.
I'm a Goldwater Conservative, don't get along with the neocons currently in charge of the Republican party and unless Ron Paul gets the nomination, may have to vote for Obama if he gets the dems nomination.

oprah is racist. oprah always decide race over everything. why do you think she's spending millions of dollars to help the people in africa ONLY when she could also split it up to help with others who are in south america and asia also. the only reason why she has different races go on her show is so that she can make her money by pretending she cares.
