He recently suggested that a Democratic win in 2008 would be equivalent to waving a white flag, and further stated that Republicans would be on the offensive. If this is true, then why did the Republican leadership for the ninth months prior to the attack, systematically ignore credible, specific warnings of an imminent attack?

The most notable is mr. bush going on a month-long vacation AFTER having read a memo "Bin Ladin Determined to Strike US" but this is far from the *only* serious, credible warning.

So do you think Rudy forgot all this, or do you think he hopes YOU have? Do you think he is using fear to manipulate your vote?

(For the record I am not a Democrat).

It seems like ever since the shooting at Virginia tech there have been all kinds of nut jobs coming out of the woodwork, threatening to perform all kinds of mass murders. What the hell is our nation coming to? I mean what do these psychos want from us? Are they never going to be satisfied even after we're all dead? Ever since that shooting I've started thinking that this type of thing really could happen anywhere at any time and Its actually got me starting to fear for my own life.

The outcome of the US invasion is that Al Qaeda is stronger than ever, and Americans are trapped in an unwinnable situation where our personnel can be picked off easilly day after day, fighting on the enemies' turf - Is it possible that this disastrous (for us) situation was planned and set up deliberately by Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden? Is there any evidence to indicate that this might possibly be so?

The bloodiest war America ever fought was against itself over the issue of slavery. In 1865, the anti-slavery forces won and the 13th Amendment to the Constitution abolished slavery on our soil.

Recently Oprah presented a segment on her show on modern slavery, and how all over the world people are still being forced into labor and prostitution against their will, often being held unlawfully as prisoners as well. Even in the United States today organized crime groups bring immigrants into the country illegally and hold them as slaves until their "debt" to the human traffickers is "paid off."

How many people worldwide are held in slavery today?

Are there any people held in slavery in the United States today?

If so, how many?

Are there more slaves in the world or in the U.S. than there were before the Civil War?

Are there more slaves in the world today than all the slaves in the history of the world combined?

How many

I’ve just watched today’s CNN morning show. John Roberts (CNN host) asked Elizabeth Cohen(CNN reporter) about the Melamine. John Roberts asked: Melamine is an ingredient in our dishes, furniture, flooring, etc.. Is it really possible to get into our food supply chain? Elizabeth Cohen replied: Melamine is from China, It is possible that the China company had deliberately implanted into American food supply chain.

That really sounds like either CNN or Cohens had implanted racial violence seed between Americans and Chinese-Americans.
Cohen family is big American Jewish family, spreading across American judicial, academic, media, financial, national defense, (etc.--you name it) key areas.

Look like they harbor so much hatred againt China/Chinese, that they would step out of Jounalism bounds to inflame racial hatred.

Astronomers have found the most Earth-like planet outside our Solar System to date, a world which could have water running on its surface.

The planet orbits the faint star Gliese 581, which is 20.5 light-years away in the constellation Libra.

Scientists made the discovery using the Eso 3.6m Telescope in Chile.

They say the benign temperatures on the planet mean any water there could exist in liquid form, and this raises the chances it could also harbour life. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/6589157.stm

What do you reckon to all this? Are you surprised?

Since September 11, we have all become paranoid. The U.S. was built on the idea that we all have personal freedoms, but now many people seem to have forgotten it. Now it's OK to wiretap, even though we grant the right to free speech, to imprison people without even telling people who they are, even though we supposedly have the right to habeus corpus, and to hate anyone who's not Christian, even though we're granted freedom of religion. And anyone who stands up for the Constitution is branded a traitor! Am I just imagining it, or have we lost sight of the priorities the US was based on?

I was just wondering if it would have been a wise decision for the students to have all jumped on Cho when he entered the classroom firing away at the students. Would such an action prevented the deaths? Is that something we should all do in case someone comes into class with a gun ready to shoot? Also do you think it is wise to throw books at a gun man? Like if the whole class just threw books at the gun man all at once. Is this wise? I heard this on the news that students should do this.

No evidence has ever been shown that proves a gun can fill out an application, have a bank account, own a drivers license, release itself from the gun case, open a box of rounds, load itself, get angry, drive itself somewhere, and operate itself.

I never heard of a gun holding a grudge against anyone. The same can be said for automobiles, bombs, knives, blunt instruments, and even gravity.

The common denominator - and the catalyst - has been and always will be people.

Many failed to intervene when the VT shooter showed signs of instability. Thinking it wasn't their problem, they passed the buck and look what happened. Failure to place the responsibilty on the apathy of people while taking the narrow-minded approach of banning guns or stopping them from being available isn't going to change anything.

Tougher restrictions on purchasing weapons and due diligence from each one of us will go a long way toward preventing such atrocities from occurring.
