I was just wondering if it would have been a wise decision for the students to have all jumped on Cho when he entered the classroom firing away at the students. Would such an action prevented the deaths? Is that something we should all do in case someone comes into class with a gun ready to shoot? Also do you think it is wise to throw books at a gun man? Like if the whole class just threw books at the gun man all at once. Is this wise? I heard this on the news that students should do this.

Have you--are any of the other "coaches" critiqing the behavior of these people EVER been confronted with a wholesale bloodletting, first hand ?? This----"what they should have done", "what I would have done" ---garbage is just THAT --- garbage !!
A man walks in -- totally out of the blue -- and spills someone's brains into the floor -----If you think you are going to be in control of anything -- especially your senses of anything BUT getting away from this --- you are insane !!!
I have been in combat--- in situations where we knew exactly what we were up against -- and very well armed and supported---where I've seen trained and even battle experienced soldiers go completely blind and clueless as to what to do when faced with the chaos and gore of a given situation !! And, then I've sit and listened to "armchair analysists" talk about "what they would do" --- in silence ---until I have wanted to literally POP !!
When people are being turned inside out at your elbow ---you are not going to do a damned thing but follow your instincts -- and those are going to tell you to get the hell out of there -- any way you can !! THAT is why heros ARE who they are --- they are the anomoly of the moment and extremely RARE !!

It is interesting to me, however, how many HEROs there are, though --- in the aftermath of ANY tragedy --- after everything is said and done -- and the "what THEY should have done" -- "what I would have done" ---comes out of the closet !!!!!!!!!

I lived for a lengthy time period the position very nearly all and numerous had guns loaded of their vehicles legally and frequently hid on their persons illegally. the in straightforward words position there have been usual shootings replaced into around the dance joints between children. extremely some it replaced into short shootouts with restricted casualties. Many were youthful girls capturing their boyfriends via the butt once they were given too pleasant with yet another female (no women, that's no longer a sturdy theory). That replaced into continuously the position, and demographic with the shootouts, such as in our "wild west" that not in any respect existed except around the saloons. Even decrease back then, the dance/leisure saloon parts were quickly in certain zones, and managed out of residential parts because of such issues. States which have comfortable their gun carry guidelines have not seen an strengthen in killings, regularly it truly is a decrease. i think the reason being the form of weapon isn't the region, and guns are extra effectual shielding than offensive ones. it truly is why terrorists use bombs. in basic terms pulling out firearms and blasting away in an armed society receives them on the instant killed. even as they in many circumstances use that technique harm is restricted to easily some formerly they're killed, and the attrition immediately thins their numbers. So it does also to criminals, hotheads, and whackos. I carry guns even as i trust i'd favor them. I do infrequently now, quite frequently because I infrequently bypass the position i'd. they're many times cumbersome to carry and require very careful dealing with. Even the position they could, maximum persons do not carry them except they see a favor. One reason is that some continuously will and that is often adequate to guard the full crowd.

I have to agree completely with Larry.

A sneak attack is used for this purpose, because the reaction of the victims will allow the criminal time to hit hard and fast with the advantage.

If there are any questions to ask, then we should question laws and rules that put the victim at a disadvantage.

For your idea to have a chance to work, there would need to be exercises (like our fire drills) in order to teach people to react in a certain manner. I heard on the news that a college prof. was fired for actually trying to do just that . . . because the prevailing party agenda is working against the use of violence in any circumstance . . . even to the extent that it is self preservation.

God's blessings for VT families.

See what happens when you actually have time to think about what you would do in this situation. Those people who were confronted with that murderer didn't have the same luxury. Perhaps you should worry about why this happened to begin with. What on earth would make someone that mad that they feel the need to take someone else's life? That's the question I would be asking. Thank you and may GOD come soon to right the wrongs that have been done on this earth.

This is a classic example of why emergency personnel and the military practice and train for all possible events. You can not wait for the next disaster before talking about it and having some sort of plan. We have fire drills, tornado and flood drills. There are places that have earthquake, volcano and tsunami drills. Now we should be having lock down or evacuation drills. One of the most beneficial things about drills, is they help identify the problems.

in all likelihood an all out rush on cho would've reduced the number of deaths, especially when he paused to reload, BUT i can attest that in that situation your body can just freeze on you and you're almost paralyzed by fear.

Hindsight..they had no idea what his intentions were..yet alone what was going on in an instant...it's easier to say they should have and could have but acting on it is another thing.

You watch too much tv(fantasy).
Know truth makes free of Believe lies.

Problem: Law: if it's "dung", flush it & make clean wipe.
Solution: "Grace is sufficient" (no law at all required)

No law = No sin and death, nor any sorrows and grief.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
