As Osama bin Laden continues to bask in his glory and safety in the secure room beneath the White House, playing poker with Bush in the wee hours of the morning, the rest of the world sits duped, believing he is still in Pakistan or somewhere else in the Middle East.

We blew the opportunity to get him in Afghanistan because the Pentagon didn't want to commit a blocking force at Tora Bora. Where did that order come from? The White House. If Osama were to really talk it might come out that he had nothing to do with 9/11 that it was an inside job. Who knows. I do know that if we hadn't gone into Iraq we would have had the troops to handle Afghanistan properly. Now we have Osama on the loose along with Mullah Omar and a narcoterrorist state that leads the world in heroin production. Has Bush's War on Terror accomplished anything positive? Well he has subverted the Constitution thereby opening the way for his 3rd term. Haven't heard that one yet. Just you wait - its coming. Just wait till you hear the excuse to justify it. It will make the Iraqi lies pale in comparison.

First of all we have not given up on looking for Bin Laden.

Second of all by calling him irrelevant we damage his prestige and Al Quaeda's prestige in Arab eyes.

And the fact of the matter that finding Bin Laden would not gain us anything militarily nor strategically. All it would do is be another meaningless photo-op event like President Clinton performed instead of actually trying to solve the problem.

That's about the lamest excuse ever heard from a statesman.

I really can't understand how the man who was behind the events of 9/11 could suddenly become irrelevant. What changed his status from dangerous to negligible? Maybe the conspiracy theories about Mr. Bush actually have an element of truth to them.

Bin Laden will die eventually whether by the hands of America or the passing of time working with nature. We all get what we got coming.

I wasn't able to find the speech where Bush said that OBL was irrelevant. What I found was : " And he's just -- he's a person who's now been marginalized. His network, his host government has been destroyed".

I found a quote from Ann Coulter that called OBL irrelevant. Now that's just stupid.

Big difference between irrelevant and marginalized.

I see that I got 2 thumbs down - that's fine.
But again i ask, where is the speech he made where he stated that OBL was irrelevent? If it's out there, please post a link.

I found sources that quote his speech, but they assume that Bush feels that OBL is irrelevant. "Irrelevant" are not in speech links that I found.

Look, we know Osama is in Pakistan and alive, but maybe not so well. Anyhow, he IS in Pakistan. Problem? Pakistan has nukes and Pakistan has said that they don't want the US military crossing their border. Personally, we need to go SpecialOps on them and completely deprive them of nuclear capability, THEN go after Osama once more.
