No, the last hanging in this country after a guilty verdict was in Kansas in the '50's. Truman Capote wrote a book about it called "In Cold Blood". Most states now use lethal injection and a few still have the electric chair. That answer is if you're speaking of the United States.

As stated above, yes for treason in the UK the punishment of death by hanging exists. There is still a working gallows at the Royal Navy Base in Plymouth ( Granby Gate ) at the Historic Dockyard, This gallows ( and possibly the only one left in the UK) was built by the French who whilst being our prisoners of war during the Napoleonic Campaigns hung one another for offences committed whilst in captivity, It is an eerie feeling when the trap door opens and the bag of sand drops to the floor. I have seen it whilst at the base.

I believe any state with the death penalty is either by lethal injection, a few states may still have the electric chair, not sure about that though. A hanging hasn't been done for a long time I don't think.

In the US, only in the state of Washington, and there only if the convict requests hanging.
In 1993 Wesley Alan Dodd was hanged in Washington at his request.

It might be that setting fire to the Royal Dockyards is still a capital offense, but they might have changed it when I was not looking

Actually yes, in the UK you can still be executed for treason ,and desertion in a time of war.
