One in 4 teenage girls, and one in six teenage boys, are vicitms of bullying, most of which is doen in cyberspace (computers and mobiles). As a parent, do you think you are doing enough to protect your youngsters?

Myspace, bebo and lookitsme.com are not only fertile grounds for paedophiles, they are by their own admission relying on moderators to intercept bullying comments.

Teenage suicides are at their highest when cyber bullying is involved.

Again I ask, do you think you are doing enough to protect our youngsters?

www.bullying.com is recommended.

(by the way i'm not sexist its just a bit of fun which should all in some form or another be able to relate to)
How we differ!

1. NAMES
If Laurie, Linda, Elizabeth and Barbara go out for lunch, they will call each other Laurie, Linda, Elizabeth and Barbara. If Mark, Chris, Eric and Tom go out, they will affectionately refer to each other as Fat Boy, Godzilla, Peanut-Head and Scrappy.

2. EATING OUT
When the bill arrives, Mark, Chris, Eric and Tom will each throw in a £20 , even though it's only for £32.50. None of them will have anything smaller and none will actually admit they want change back. When the women get their bill, out come the pocket calculators.

3. MONEY
A man will pay £2 for a £1 item he needs.
A woman will pay £1 for a £2 item that she doesn't need, but it's on sale.

4. BATHROOMS
A man has five items in his bathroom: a toothbrush, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel from the Marriott. The average number of items in the typical woman's bathroom is 337. A man would not be able to identify most of these items.

5. ARGUMENTS
A woman has the last word in any argument.
Anything a man says after that... is the beginning of a new argument.

6.CATS
Women love cats.
Men say they love cats, but when women aren't looking, men kick cats.

7. FUTURE
A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.
A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.

8. SUCCESS
A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend. A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

9. MARRIAGE
A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't. A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change , and she does.

10. DRESSING UP
A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the rubbish, answer the phone, read a book, and get the post. A man will dress up for weddings and funerals.

11. NATURAL
Men wake up as good-looking as they went to bed.
Women somehow deteriorate during the night.

12. OFFSPRING
Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and romances, best friends, favourite foods, secret fears and hopes and dreams. A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.

13. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Any married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing.

Dont you find that a bit odd? I dont think it happened, why in close to fourty years has there not been any mission to the moon, or any publicity of any type going back there, by any country? If it really happened, wouldnt there have been many visits since? It doesnt make sense.

Dr David Payne has had a flashback and now remembers seeing Madeleine put to bed at 7.00pm on the night of her disappearance. This has come just as it is revealed that from 2.30pm onwards noone saw Madeleine but her parents. Isn't it lucky for the McCanns that their friend has suddenly remembered this important detail just in the nic of time. I wonder why he and the McCanns had a lapse of memory over this important piece of information until now. My question is, Will he now be considered an unreliable witness like Jane Tanner who also keeps changing her story. I mean, is it realistic that he "forgot" this vital piece of the jigsaw. I find it hard to believe but that's just me.

The UN is absolutely worthless. They stood by and did nothing when a million people were slaugtered in Rwanda and now they invite that terrorist from Iran into our country. Let the Swiss have them. Everybody likes the Swiss, anyway.
However, if you are about to face a Holocaust, then don't deposit your money there.

AN American family has applied for political asylum in Finland, immigration officials said yesterday.

The five-member family arrived in the country on Tuesday from Germany.

Local media have speculated that the parents possibly were escaping serving in the US armed forces in Iraq.

This article: http://news.scotsman.com/index.cfm?id=1517532007

This was in my local paper but I've had to take the snippet from the scotsman (which is at the other end of the country) as I couldn't find it.

I've never heard of Americans claiming asylum in a European country before.

How do you think they will stand? Will it be rejected or accepted?

I always see what I would consider to be thw wrong height conversions when giving someones height.

I.E. I hae just read a news report from a world-famous news service who quoted someones height as 5'9" (175cm).

The conversion into cm is wrong - 5'9" is 179cm, not 175.

I see this all the time, across a lot of different mediums, including sports.

Why is this, when clearly the conversions are WRONG? I know this question is a bit lame, but this is just annoying me a bit because so many media insitutions when quoting heights always seem to convert inches into cm wrong.

Or am I converting inches wrongly?

Thanks for your help.

at those who "change their stories",
has it occurred to you all that the McCanns & their friends (including, or rather especially, the Tanners) may have been instructed by investigating officials to plant red herrings as an attempt to outwit the abductor???

The media, unwittingly laps up all data as scoops with no thought to the truth or context behind, resulting in the unsuspecting public being fed...um...red herrings for breakfast, lunch & dinner...

That explains why it is only NOW that we hear that Gerry McCann believed the abductor was hiding in the room when he went to check on his Madeleine. Surely, if he had proclaimed from day 2 that he believed that the abductor was in the room it would have
given the abductor insights to the investigation. BTW, that the evil scum hasn't been yet nailed yet should NOT discredit the investigating methods used at that time.

It also explains why Jane Tanner kept changing her story.

Apart from the shock, disbelief, confusion, grieft & utter lack of knowledge as to how to react in such a situation, which are the reasons normally why witnesses make lots of inconsistent observations, i do believe that planting red herrings as an attempt to hide info privvy to the investigation explains a lot of the inconsistencies...that have been misinterpretated as indications of the McCanns/ their friends' guilt.

We read that for the McCanns its no longer about finding Madeleine anymore, its a 'propoganda war' against the Portuguese Police.

In a 'propoganda war' with the McCanns on one side and the Portuguese Police on the other and the British/Portuguese general public in the middle - where does Madeleine fit in ? Is the McCanns hiring of ex-SAS private investigators a genuine attempt to search for Madeleine ? or just another PR excercise by the McCanns ?

It seems to me. Everyone is going.

"Oh my god! Some 'black' people beat up a 'white' kid! See, they *are* horrible and violent!"

However, hardly anyone talking about it on Yahoo Answers talks about that horrid tree and the nooses.

Now. Let's say you wanted to sit under a tree but you couldn't because it was the 'white tree' and only 'white' people can sit under it. (How do they decided whom is 'white' and 'black'?) So you get permission and sit under the tree.

The next day there are nooses hanging from the tree.

Now I don't know about you, but I would be mighty pissed off.

Sure the 'Jena Six' could be charged with bashing the kid up. But not 'attempted second-degree murder' for God's sake. Imagine if the 'colours' were reversed. How would people react then huh?
