We read that for the McCanns its no longer about finding Madeleine anymore, its a 'propoganda war' against the Portuguese Police.

In a 'propoganda war' with the McCanns on one side and the Portuguese Police on the other and the British/Portuguese general public in the middle - where does Madeleine fit in ? Is the McCanns hiring of ex-SAS private investigators a genuine attempt to search for Madeleine ? or just another PR excercise by the McCanns ?

More to the point who's paying for it ?? That's the question !
However, apart from that i was led to believe that a Private Investigation is illegal under Portuguese Law, while ever the Police are still conducting their investigation !!
That's NOT me just presuming..it came from a Portuguese Lawyer on BBC News at least 2 weeks ago when the reporter asked as to why they hadn't already considered a Private Detective...So why have things changed ??
And YES i do firmly believe that this is just another PR exercise....NOT particularly by the McCann's but Clarence Mitchell !

i'm particular some will admit that they have been incorrect, yet not many. whether Madeleine have been got here across alive, there might nonetheless be some who might say that the McCanns orchestrated the entire element of make money. some human beings hate them plenty for being themselves, their way and what they stand for and could in no way have faith that they have been punished sufficient for leaving their infants that night. unhappy yet genuine. And if i'm incorrect, i'm going to apologise unreservedly for sticking up for them, yet I won't apologise for believing that folk ought to get carry of a honest trial (not with the aid of media in step with hypothesis and innuendo, yet earlier a decide and jury in step with evidence) , that they must be presumed harmless till shown accountable.

Great point but they forget that when they're against the Portuguese Police they are against the British Police and the FSS as well.
It's a bit strange how they're not charged with anything yet and the first thing they do is to get Lawyers (expensive ones) spokes people and try to get the media up to date better then the Police.
A message for this "Parents", try to have some concern about your daughter in first place!

If it's not a propaganda war why is there another article on the front pages today saying...

"We'll hire private investigators to find Maddie ourselves."

- A friend said the McCanns said.... yadda yadda yadda again.

Well if this is about Maddie and not just covering their own *** with PR, why the **** wasn't this done over 2 months ago, why isn't it BEING done instead of them yet again TALKING TALKING CLAIMING CLAIMING TALKING to the papers with no actual ACTION to back up these "friend" claims yet again.

The headline isn't McCanns "HAVE" hired. the title is McCanns "WILL" hire.

They've had over a million pounds in The Fund™ for weeks which has gone on nothing but a few posters and wrist bands which I could print for a few hundred quid... in fact could probably mooch for free from a printing company if it's for a missing child.

Why haven't they hired a PI a long time ago seeing as they were so vocal about the PJ being no use from day one???

Becoming pretty clear why more and more by the day.

Morning 17pdr

I think it is a genuine attempt to search for their child, if you were guilty and so far not charged would you keep on with the PR. I think they want to find their daughter, because that will be the only thing that stops people from accusing them of harming her if they are innocent.

I find it hard to believe why people think that they would know if private investigators were investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann all along. The name 'private' investigator should give us all a clue.

The propaganda is ridiculous, the speculation is ridiculous. Peoples behavior (not all) on these boards is beyond ridiculous.

At least your question is sensible and brings something intelligent to the board. I am pretty sure you will not be calling me a pedophile for disagreeing with you, as that's seems to be what a certain pondlife likes to insinuate on these boards.

I am only going to answer certain questions about the McCanns now, I am not going to keep on with it, don't need to be called names like that in the search for 10 minutes entertainment on a computer, I don't do it to other users on here.

But who is running and sustaining this increasingly tiresome propaganda war?

'Team McCann'? The British Press? People like us, posting comments like this?

Personally, I'd like to see a press and media blackout until there is actually something substantive and meaningful to report in this case.

I for one, am sick and tired of the lurid speculation of excitable journalists being presented as objective reporting, and off-the-cuff, rent-a-quote opinions of various McCann advisors, friends and relatives being routinely presented as irrefutable facts.

Enough, already !!!!!!

A lot of UK news papers are running stories that the Portuguese police believe they are using their friends to cover for them by slightly/grossly changing their stories,,,,,,Jane Tanner being a notable case,,and the husband of Dr Payne saying he saw Madeleine being put to bed at or around 19;30,,,strange how he failed to mention this until now,,,,,

Just PR to get the McCanns back into society's "acceptance" This is all about saving their faces. They would probably do well to leave this country and start again elsewhere.

Where on earth did you read that "for the McCanns it is no longer about finding Madeleine"...
Their website is still "findingmadeleine.com" isn't it?

When we had no details of them hiring PIs, everyone howled that they should. Now, that they have, what you grumbling about? Its no PR excercise...its a desperate attempt to find a baby. If it were just for PR, don't you think we would have heard more details...???

Of course, the McCanns need to clear themselves against the baseless accusations hurled against them by the PJ?
Don't you see? If the public find them guilty, the abductor gets away with Madeleine? Now, you wouldn't want that, would you?
