Yes, of course there is, but you can't expect them to tell the world what they know, right? That would be like helping the suspects (McCanns or not) to build their defence and win.

Yes.

Starting with the witness statements that don't tie up, there is no other information we are privvy to.

The press have printed stories that either celebrate or rubbish the actions of both sides, both the McCanns and the PJ.

If anyone has been involved in a police investigation then they will no doubt be fully aware that the press is not the place where details of this are shown, the only people who know the reasons that the parents are suspects are the PJ and British Police themselves, nobody else. And that's the way it should be.

I happen to note that several Pro's thought at one point that the parents being made suspects might be a ploy in order to bring out the true suspect - this would be the PJ leaking false leads to the press in order to capture the real offender and this was considered clever and okay. Now they are accusing the PJ of leaking information to the press to gain further information from the McCann's it isn't.

Some people just can't win.

This is what we are being told by the press - that the PJ are convinced they were involved (or one of their friends).

But find a direct quote? Actually, the police have said very little and the so called leaks might just be made up.

So I would sooner wait to see what actually comes out of the investigation.

I am 50/50 about whether or not one of the mates of the McCanns/McCanns themselves, are involved or not.

I dont know and nor can anyone else - all the suggested evidence may have been made up by press after all. So many things widely reported turn out not to be true months down the line.

It is really very difficult to try and guess when all we know is what we are told by the Press. I think they are basing their investigation on the premise that, more often than not, it is the parents who are involved in crimes against children. Also, the conflicting statements re timing etc by the McCanns and their friends must have aroused suspicion, although even these allegations may only be Press gossip.

The single factor in this case that has alienated me against the McCanns is their cold demeanour and their general attitude and, in particular, their refusal to answer certain questions that were put to them. I am not accusing them of anything but i cannot warm to them.

Um...Theo...they aren't convinced themselves...
Thats why they themselves refuted rumours stating that the DNA found in the boot of the car was Madeleine's, despite the fact, that info leaked from the PJ itself.

Yup, they know more much more than any of us here....I agree with you there. But to say that they have "facts" is not logical.
A fact is a known truth. If they had a single fact against the McCanns, the McCanns wouldn't be home in the UK today.

All they have is conjecture which they are desperately trying to build into a case. I don't claim that they are completely incompetent but they are desperate. Desperate to prove themselves & find a guilty party 'cos of the tremendous world media coverage this case has got.

For this reason, they have to cling onto any, i repeat, any probable suspect they can lay their hands on...Thats why they won't let go of the McCanns.

They are professionals.
They are backed up with the British Police and the FSS.
What we don't know is if Murat McCanns or they friends are professional liars or not.
The truth will come.
But definitely they know they are irresponsible parents when they left the children on their own, that's a fact.

What seems most logical to me is that the PJ is petrified a Pandora's box is about to be opened. The McCann case has put them under the spotlight. I believe/hope the case of Joana Cipriano and who knows how many other cases will be re investigated, they appear to be behaving as if they are in fear heads will roll

Prob because the trails gone cold with no more sightings and they tend to say logically it's normally someone in the family that does it. But we don't all know the facts so i abstein from believing either way as the truth will eventually be told i just wish the focus was still on the child then her parents.

Like other crimes of this gravity, the truth will come out eventually. I think the McCanns or one of them, will stand trial for Maddies murder.

They don't seem to have acted like grieving parents at any time since it happened.
