I was really disgusted about the Farepak news. And the closer it gets to Christmas, I keep wondering if any of those people are getting any money back... Especially since there are so many charities helping, and people digging into their own pockets to help.

It sort of reminds me of New Orleans charities and charities for NYC bombings... Scammers came out of the wood work to get money they were not owed and I am just hoping people are getting SOMETHING back that they lost out and it's not falling into the hands of more DISHONEST folk.
(how do people sleep at night... shameless!)

...although I cant recall any African countries saying "Thanks, Britain, for also bringing an end to it". Did France, Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Holland, or representatives of any African or Arab countries stand up and say, "We're sorry as well", and did any African or Arab country say "Actually, we still practice slavery, we're sorry, we'll put an end to it right now"?

I personally dont think so, and I think its ridiculous. There have been other entertainers that have portrayed super heroes, what have you and you dont see the people who created them suing those individuals.

It is my strong opinion that they should not attend the memorial concert, their extra maritial affair was the primary reason for circumstances which led to her untimely death, if Charles had acted appropriately her life events would have been so different.

In news stories and pictures my fellow soldiers send me from Iraq, I do see that Iraqi police and soldiers are actively involved in helping hold down the violence there from day-to-day, and while the government seems timid at most and not willing to take control, I wonder if I'm the only one who sees the work of the police and military forces over there? I think they help clean up a lot of messes.

Can we expect America to invade Israel to alleviate the problem, much as they did in Iraq, and much as they would like to do in North Korea and Iran ?

Here's the article, in case you're interested- http://uk.news.yahoo.com/13122006/356/free-cash-machines-poor-areas.html

So what do you think? To me it seems a bit pointless, as major banks do not charge usually, and if I see one of those charging atms, half the time I just wait until I can get to the main bank's atm.
So cash machines were all free, then these 'bandit' machines which charge started popping up, now they're going to make them free as well. What's caused this?

Whilst it is undoubtedly true that Kennedy had affairs with actresses other than Marilyn Monroe, it is certainly untrue that she was an one-night stand or that the relationship lasted only a year.

It has been well-documented, in my own biography as well as in others, that the affair dates back to when JFK for running for the US Senate and needed bright and beautiful people to help to promote his campaign.

That MM took the affair seriously and allowed herself to become pregnant is a mere testimony to the very human trait of self-deceit.

The BBC has recently aired a programme about John Kennedy`s women. This is a show which I missed; not intentionally but even had I wanted to view I would have probably known as much as if not more than the documentary proposed.

The interesting question for me is: Is MM a Greek tragedy and was she herself the (illegitimate) daughter of Joseph Kennedy, who bought RKO in 1926 (the year MM was born) where MM`s mother, Gladys, worked as a cutter

It seems to me that Americans consider what happened to New Orleans and surrounding areas as bad as the Asia Tsunami that killed 200,000+ people. Is this true because if for not for the apathy of those in New Orleans to strengthening their defence against what happened it never would have happened that doesn't change the tragedy of it but to compare it to events under the Pacific that couldn't be stopped and wiped clean entire coastal areas and left the area around South-East asia, India, Sri Lanka,Indonesia and East Africa completely devestated wherever it hit. Is utter arrogance
