Any idea what the best way to unload this stuff is? This stuff still has value, I just don't need it. Anywhere to give it away for free where I won't be charged? I called 1-800-got-junk and they want like $400 to come get it!

Over the past two years I have been trying to do up my house, which could have been finished about a year ago; except that every builder/plasterer/joiner/painter etc we've had just messed us around. Either they turn up 3 hours late every day, take 2 hour lunches, don't turn up at all when they say they will. Some take longer on the job to try and get more money, some quote us, say they'll start next week and then never turn up. Some start the job then don't turn up for 2 weeks with no phone calls, they don't answer their phone - and still expect to be paid for the work started! Some go completely AWOL in the middle of a job and we never hear from them again.
If there is anyone out there that can justify that not all tradesmen are the same then I would like to hear from you.
Likewise if you've been in a similar situation, it would be comforting to know that it's not just me.

I'm growing some vegetables in pots. I'll be transplanting them in the ground soon. They are tomatoes, beans, and cucumbers. Lately I've been finding mushrooms growing in them. I know the mushrooms are poisonous. Sometimes they have a black top and gray stem. Other times Orange top with white stem. Will these cause any harm to my plants? I usually dig them out when I see them growing.

Can anybody tell me if there is a way to get rid of odors in a house? I am a first time homebuyer looking for houses. Some houses we looked at this wkend had very strong odors such as cigarette smoke, and pets. The realtor tells us that these odors can be removed but I want to make sure it is true because I have sinus trouble and I definitely do not want to move into a house that will make it worse.

Me and my family have been having problems with flying ants, what we thought were termites at one time. We've come to find that these are flying ants and they only bother us during the evenings when light is activated in our rooms. They like to fly all over my laptop screen and I get so tired of trying to smack them all the time. I would like to know if there's any sort of spray we could get to keep them from bothering us. We do not have any plants in our home, nor no windows opened to make them die with detergent.

I just killed a really large roach in my bathroom last night. I have lived in my house for about 8 months, and this is my first time seeing a roach (though springtime is just now underway). I have heard that "if you kill one roach there are a dozen more" and similar sayings. Do you think this roach is a sign of a problem, or just a fluke stray perhaps?

I have a lot of stuff... Way more than I should keep. No matter what I tell myself - "If I didn't use in a year then I don't need it" - nothing that I know seems to help me.
I'm moving to a smaller place now, so now is a good time. How do I identify the items to get rid of? I have tons of
- Dishes
- Kitchen utensils
- Clothes
-Old computer stuff (modems, wires, adapters)
-Various stuffed toys my friends gave me over the years
-Papers of various nature - old bills and records, notepads, books, ets
If you have any tips please share.

I just bought a Weeping Willow tree yesterday, and some of the leaves are yellow and falling off, with some dead twigs. The rest, however, is alive.

Are some of them supposed to be yellow? Some leaves are budding that color.

Could it just be in shock because I'm actually watering it unlike Home Depot? (Dirt was practically dry when I got it)

Should I be watering it a lot more? help please!

Before moving into this house, I have NEVER experienced so many spiders indoors. When warm weather arrives, it seems like I get on average of a spider every other day to every day. I have even seen HUGE (nearly 2") spiders that freak me out. Plus, for the past few years, hundreds of spiderlings show up on my bedroom ceilings during the night in the Summer...I then end up having to vacuum the ceiling and all of my items since the baby spiders get all over the place. I'm losing sleep because I don't want them hatching when I'm sleeping...the thought just creeps me out. I have never found a nest in my bedrooms. Why do hundreds of spiderlings suddenly show up on my bedroom ceilings? Anyway, I get all of this spider activity even though Terminex has sprayed on the outside of my house and in my basement almost monthly. I have not noticed any other insects that spiders could be attracted to other than an occasional centipede, cricket, or earwig...ewwww! I fear spiders, so I'm at my wit's end.
