Can anyone tell me what those tiny little red bugs are that are usually all over concrete?? Really my 6 yr old wants to know, and I have no idea!

they are Predatory Running Mites and they are completly harmless

in the south growing up we called them chiggers. I'm not sure if that is the real name or not. Other kids told me that they would burrow into your skin and the only way to kill them was with to cover the patch of skin with clear (or really any color but obviously clear is preferable) nail polish. I however, have successfully made it to adulthood without a single chigger burrowing into my flesh. so I'm sure your 6 year old is safe.

Mites. They bite, and I'm pretty sure they're poisonous, so don't touch them.
