I may have misunderstood your question but are you speaking of the tank or the bowl? No problems with any product that hangs in the bowl. Any chemical that cleans the tank, will probably harm the working parts of the toilet. Most use chlorine bleach. As stated, there are products that go in the tank and feed to chemicals to the bowl through the overflow tube. Problem is, they still come in contact with the seal between the tank and bowl.
