I have just one HUGE annoying fly in my PC room. I have tried to get it with a swatter but for some reason the little bugger is to darn fast. It's about to drive me crazy. Any ideas on how to get rid of it? Besides a shotgun LOL.

My hubby likes it to be cold in the house at night so he can sleep better. I like to have the windows open all the time but offered to shut them at night and turn the air conditioning on.

He says it takes more energy to shut the A/C off during the day and turn it on at night because the A/C has to work harder to catch up.

I say it would be better to open the windows during the day (like I like) and turn the A/C on at night only on nights that are really hot.

Not only do I want to get fresh air during the day but I think my way saves money on cooling costs.

Which way is better, energy-wise?

My air conditioner is off all day while I'm at work, and only on 78 degrees when I'm home. We do not have natural gas, just electricity. We only wash/dry a couple loads of clothes and do one load of dishes each week. Our nieghbors, in the same building, pay no more than $90 per month, and run thier air conditioning all day. WHAT IS CAUSING THIS?

My apartment complex sent a matianace person who said nothing was wrong and that we were just complaining. We had the air conditioning checked out, it was fine. Someone told us that it could be a leak in the hot water heater under the foundation. I'm in North Florida and live in the first florr of a 3 story, shaded unit, if it helps.

I live in a first floor apartment, there are always ants, and other insects crawling on the floor and walls. I keep it very clean, but the landlord says there's always been a problem. I have a dog and a baby and wanted to get rid of the bugs in a way that wouldn't hurt either of them.

Friends of mine (resturaunt owners) heard that if they hung a ziplock bag of water from the ceiling (actually put ice in it...let ice melt...and keep bag hanging from the ceiling afterward) that flies would be nonexistent in their establishment. and it worked. as a result, another friend of mine tried this on and around his deck...also worked. BUT WHY?
