Living Room is more for a formal occasion for special holidays, guests to visit. A family den, is more along the lines of watching TV, where the computer is, a place to just hang with family and friends. Put the entertainment center in the Den.

If you have a den and a living room the living room is normally used in a formal setting just to entertain guest . The den or family room is where the TV would go and is more for your family to relax together.

A den is usually used as a mini office. A place to put your computer and filing cabinet. It can also be used as a library. It is your own little get-a-way. A living room is for company and baby showers, etc. A family room is where all the action is. The T.V. is there as are the video games. If you don't have a family room then that is what your living room is then.

Den - office or reading room Living - where family gathers to watch tv, etc, it's casual Family - formal living room, may not have tv, sometimes has a fireplace You could use your den as a computer room, & turn the family room into a dining room (or the living room into a dining room).

The living room is for entertaining guests. This is the room that you would bring them too. Generally there would not be a t.v in this room.

The den is more of a relaxation room. Here is where you would put in your entertainment center or bookshelf. Generally it is off of a hallway or opposite of a livingroom.

the den is like the the messy room. it's at times a complete wreck. It's the room that you can just lounge around in. the living room is the nicer room in the house. when you have guests over you sit in the living room. it is neater and more nicely furnished. entertainment center in the den, and entertaining in the living room. i hope i helped.
