I just had to repair an outside yard faucet, and the pipe was PVC. I primed , glued , and then set the connection back up with the regular PVC glue. I did this about 30 mins ago and it's about 60 degrees out and the sun is setting. How long do i have to wait for it to set before i can turn the water back on again?

One professional has said grinding down to clean concrete is the only way. Another problem is this is in a 7/24 drive-thru restaurant kitchen and has to be fast. Any downtime is lost income!

I need one foot of 1/2inch inside diameter tubing. I tried Home Depot Lowes, Sears Hardware, and no luck.

Needs to be silicon because it will be used in a high temperature application. (Approx 200degF of exhaust smoke)

A few days ago some kids eggd our front door and house at night so after we found it in the morning it was on there so long that it was stuck like super glue.

we got out the house with no luck...so i got out the pressure washer (gas) and got the egg off the house an walkway, i must say...the washer just had enough pressure to take it off even with a strong nossle.

anyways i didnt want to take the stain or anything off our front door so i used the pressure washer on it while staying furthur back but it seemed to have forced some water inbetween the 2 pieces of glass in the right side door

here are some photos of the door and the side with water as well as the side without any water.

I can see some wooden plugs on the door around the window...maby thats how they closed the glass in as they made the door but I dont see any way to get those out without drilling them out which would distroy the door anyways.

I have several filing cabinets which were defined by labels. I am trying to clean them up but after the label is peeled off it is very difficult to remove the sticky goo left behind. Any suggestions? I have tried things like WD40 and GooBeGone, but they have lingering strong odors. Not pleasant at all. :( Please Help?

Someone burned one of those big pizza's in the oven at my condo... It burned in there for over 3 hours at 425degree's and filled the entire house with smoke from floor to ceiling. Now it looks like the walls and ceilings are stained in every room and I cannot get rid of the awful smell- it's making me ill. I've already aired out the whole entire house for hours, but I can't leave the windows open forever because it's freezing outside... Is this something we can fix ourselves or do we need a professional?

I live in north east part of Maryland. I need to replace my oil furnace. I have about 2,000 square feet. The house is a bi level. I want to ad central air. Would a heat pump by its self, be the right choice or a heat pump and furnace side by side. Or what about a just a furnace with an "A" coil? Thanks for your help

When thermostat is turned on or lowered in temp, invariably there is a striking or sparking noise associated with the thermostat until the temp is obtained. It's not continuous ... also there are "sparks" associated with this as well. Kinda scary. Any ideas what is happening? Will a replacement of the thermostat alone resolve the problem? We've moved into this home recently and not familiar with its history.

I purchased all the parts for a new pressure relief valve on my broiler (hot water heating system), I know how to assemble everything. But, the joint between the new valve and the old pipe weeps water. What is the best way to seal the threads? Is joint pipe compound good enough? The plumber who installed the broiler 15 years ago used a grey paint like substance (it feels slightly slippery to the touch) to seal the joints. Anyone know what this might be? Do I need to use this?
