A few days ago some kids eggd our front door and house at night so after we found it in the morning it was on there so long that it was stuck like super glue.

we got out the house with no luck...so i got out the pressure washer (gas) and got the egg off the house an walkway, i must say...the washer just had enough pressure to take it off even with a strong nossle.

anyways i didnt want to take the stain or anything off our front door so i used the pressure washer on it while staying furthur back but it seemed to have forced some water inbetween the 2 pieces of glass in the right side door

here are some photos of the door and the side with water as well as the side without any water.

I can see some wooden plugs on the door around the window...maby thats how they closed the glass in as they made the door but I dont see any way to get those out without drilling them out which would distroy the door anyways.

(Part 2)
Im looking for any ways to get the water out of the pieces of glass in the door without having to remove the glass if plssible

its been cold here going between 50F and 30F and around the afternoon the door starts to get the condensation on that section of glass.

I figure it might just evaporiate as summer comes around next year but i would like to get it out before than if possible....maby my forced air heater can be used to heat the glass and evaporiate the moisture?

thanks for any and all help

Sorry to hear about the damage. As for the moisture between the window panes, it will always be there now. The moisture gets in because the panes are sealed and filled with a gas. The seal has been broken. The only way to get rid of the moisture is to get a new window, or wait for really dry weather.
Good Luck.

The water definitely seeped through cracks between the glass and the wood and even through the wood which is fibrous and porous. I went to see the pictures and it looks to me that the windows are like stained glass and held by tin or lead which would explain the infiltration as the hermetic seal is never 100% with those materials. Try heating the windows with an hot air blower for at least a few hours (I understand you don't wish to take the windows apart) it will have this effect: water that evaporates or reaches its evaporation point EXPANDS and will find a way out the way it found a way in. Make sure you expose it for a few hours to completely get the water out and not just condensate it because it will reappear as soon as the temperature drops, if this doesn't work, waiting for more clement weather where the sun will do the same thing can be a solution.

The general contractor is right. You will need to replace the entire light or door because once the seal is broken, that's it baby!! As I like to say, "lesson learned is NOT to force anything on doublepaned windows"

Your best bet for removing the egg stuff would have been to soak a large sponge or several small towels and prop them up against the eggs. They eventually would have softened and could have been wiped up easily.

behind them little plugs are screws to remove the frame that holds in the glass ..carefully drill out the plugs you can get replacement plugs.. remove the glass and take it to a glass repair center..there they can disasemble the glass case and dry it out and then reseal it for ya.. your home owners insurance should cover this?!?

Try using a hair dryer on the glass.

the seal around your glass panel has been damaged due to the pressure washer
it may be cheaper to just replace the panel
but it`s your money
good luck
