I don't know, but why don't you put in it there so your mail can find you? It's really simple to do.

The office notifies the post office of a new tenant, then the post office usually leaves a slip of paper in your mail box for you to fill out and that is your responsibility. Then you put it back in your mailbox and it is taken care of from there. =)

actually MOST cases YOU are responsible, HOWEVER an in-law recently moved into a housing complex for elderly and the name is actually inside a locked case which in her situation the landlord had to put it in...but thats the first time Ive ever seen this
