WD 40, or sewing machine oil.

Either your fan isn't totally balanced, which can be corrected using balancing weights or by switching the fan blades. Or your fan is close enough to the cieling that the air pressure blowing against the cieling makes the fan swivel on high, meaning the only thing you could do is lower the cieling fan.

You might try putting a little 3-in-1 oil on the ball joint that the ceiling fan hangs from. That is most likely what is squeaking when the fan starts to wobble. A little 3-in-1 oil or grease should help quiet it up some by reducing the friction.

Are you sure it's squeaking? When the bulb covers get loose it sounds like ours is squeaking but all I do is tighten them and it's fine. Try that before you oil anything.

If it is squeaking, it's probably a bearing and it's on it's way out.

It should be secured tightly to the ceiling fan electrical box to start with. Then balance the blades and tighten all the screws.Don"t forget to clean off the tops of the blades.

Get a can of aerosol penetrating lubricant and spray the shaft near the bearings. make sure all the screws are tight and also check that the fan is balanced!
