We recently bought a house with a small outdoor concrete pond. We were told by the previous owners at closing that they used to keep fish in the pond.
It looks like it holds around 60 - 80 gallons of water. There is a drain hole right in the center, but there is no pump or filter. It hasn't held fish for a some time since the sellers had rented the house for a few years before selling.
What do we need to do to turn this into a fish pond? I'm willing to tackle almost any DIY project, but I would prefer not to have to dig up my yard if it can be avoided.

My husband and I just bought a house. The backyard after about 12 feet is a forrest! I cant tell you the amount of noise outside at dark it is HORRID! I HATE BUGS especially mosquitos!!!!! I want to buy something that will kill 3/4 to all of them in the yard. I dont want my dog to bring in fleas or ticks and I definetely want to be able to enjoy my deck without getting killed by mosquitos. I also, need to make sure that whatever it is I treat my lawn with, will not harm my dog.

All of these flowers has been naturalized in my area. When should I dig them up and trasnplant them? Can I do it now? How should I do it? And I also have two other questions.
1: When, and for long do dayliliies bloom? (these are the orange kind)
2: When, and for long, do irises bloom?

I've one rose which is beign eaten by something i can't see. It attacks the buds just before the flower opens. it eats the green outer layer of the bud exposing the pink petals and making the bud look rounded ratehr than pointed. the bush is also very scraggly looking - small redish leaves and just one long stem, not busy....

the bush is next to some hollyhocks which also look ill, suffer rust and have infestations of bugs on the buds (though i've never seen these on the rose)

I did spray the trees with an Ortho product designed to remove mildew spots, but the spots are still there.

Last year I planted a vine in my greenhouse (Bristol, UK). Now there are several bunches of baby grapes which look promising, but they are covered in mildew. How do I correct this ?

I want something which is environmentally friendly. I have dusted them with 'green sulphur', found in the potting shed. I also have a jar of sodium metabisulphite crystals used for steralising home-brew wine bottles. Would a solution of this be effective against mildew ? - I could dunk each bunch in a tub of solution. But what strength should I use ?

It is said that mosquitoes stay away from the area where the plant is... (whereas pandan leaves attract mosquitoes). This plant grows abundantly and easy to plant.

I planted , at the time was 12 inch little palm trees in my flower bed. Man !! it looked great at the time. Well a year later......... It was a mistake. They are now over 5 ft tall, and look really bad 4 a flower bed and need to be removed ASAP and planted else where. My question is : How, (I mean with the roots and all) do u just cut through them? Is it ok to do this time of the year (in Texas heat)?

I've got a large, healthy blueberry bush until now it seems. I've got these gray things here and there on the bush. They look like seed pods or something.....sort of like an overgrown kidney bean but gray. Some of them have little holes in them. I can't tell if they are surrounding a blueberry or not. I first noticed them last year but there were only a few and I ignored. This year there are substantially more. I'm concerned but I can't seem to find a match to what these things are when I search around the internet. Any thoughts?
