I'm at the five months stage, too... whatever you do, DON"T grab something with Nicotine in it!!!.... just get up and go do something else than sit there and think "Wow, I want one!!''... we've beat the nicotine thing and should be pretty close to losing the habit thing.... but the stress thing.... that one hangs on, don't it?.... I still feel a little habit thing, especially when I sit down at the computer..... got a kid getting married next weekend, so the stress thing is gonna hit hard....

STAY TOUGH!!!!... we'll never , ever, NOT want to smoke... but we're smarter than to start again after all this time... RIGHT???????.... hang in there... I'm with ya, friend!...

My friend tried using those Nicorette pills and it helped.
But if you stopped smoking 5 months ago the cravings must be psychological. If you're under stress, get rid of it in another way.

My 82 year old mother gave up smoking 17 years ago after smoking for heavily for 40 years, by using patches, she said that she still has cravings but they pass, she takes a lollie called Throate, it is a cold sweet full of menthol, I have also heard about people who clean their teeth each time they have a craving

good luck

I stopped long ago and still find myself digging in my purse for that pack of cigarettes. It makes me mad. I remember that guy standing there saying that cigarettes are not addictive. That made me madder. And then by brother-in-law died. He had a very bad heart and the doctors told him he MUST stop smoking. He didn't and didn't get off the operating table. How stupid of him. Every time I want a cigarette I get so p*ssed at what they did to me and they did it with intent. Get mad. Get very, very mad. You are fighting a terrible addiction. Remember that they actually started adding extra nicotin to hook you so that you couldn't quit. The only way to get even with them is to not buy their products. Do not give in and do not start eating to compensate. There is more to smoking than just the cravings. There are all those satisfying actions and motions that go with it. When you stop one thing, you must replace it with something else. Anger worked for me. Whatever you do, DO NOT GIVE IN!

You've already begun to repair damage to your lungs, and some Doctors would say just by quitting, you've added 5 years on your life.

Try some working out, or have a Vindaloo, something really spicy will release pain receptors, and as your body doesn't need them, you'll get a "chili eaters high".

Doubt it. Cigarettes contain countless chemicals that stay in body for months. Maybe they will not check that? In physical Dr. will look at mouth and know you are not being honest; then all will go south. Why just not say the truth? A lot easier on everyone.

When the craving occurs, take several deep breaths and you might also pop a hard candy in too.
