Last year I planted a vine in my greenhouse (Bristol, UK). Now there are several bunches of baby grapes which look promising, but they are covered in mildew. How do I correct this ?

I want something which is environmentally friendly. I have dusted them with 'green sulphur', found in the potting shed. I also have a jar of sodium metabisulphite crystals used for steralising home-brew wine bottles. Would a solution of this be effective against mildew ? - I could dunk each bunch in a tub of solution. But what strength should I use ?

i have always found neem oil very effective against powdery mildew, and it's totally non toxic--it's derived from the neem tree. give it a try. i've only used it on roses, but grapes and roses have the same cultural needs, which is why they are often grown together, so i'm confident it would work just as well for you.

from web info it sounds dangerous. better would be a fungicide listed for powdery mildew
