We can't afford to have it professionally removed. I'd just like to be able to "kill" it somehow and then cut it down even with the grass. Is this even possible?

I planted day lillies and calla lillies in the early spring and they are coming up very nicely, but there are still no blooms on them yet. Is it just not time for them to bloom yet or did I do something wrong?

I have a philadelphus coronarius aureus. Every year when it blooms, the flowers are hidden by excess leaf/ stem growth which gives the appearance that the bush is blooming internally! I prune it with shears in June when the flowers have finished, back to its globular shape. Quite some growth needs to be taken off as by this time the bush has nearly doubled in size. How can I get the flowers visible? What am I doing, or not doing, wrong?

I've read that my tomato plants need 1 to 1 1/2 inches of water every week. How do I measure this? I live in So Cal so the only water these plants get is the water I put on them. I want to make sure I'm not over watering.

It is about 4ft tall, its leaves are 30cm long and linear with spines along the centre ridge on the back of the leaf and they are in pairs all the way up the stem.. The edges of the leaves are serrated,it has a flower coming at the top of it's single stem but I can't tell what colour it is yet. they spent the winter as rosettes of about 6 leaves almost flat on the ground ', but have really sprouted since april. I have about 10 of these growing where I scattered a packet of wild flower seeds last year but I have lost the packet.

I'm growing beefsteak tomatoes in containers. On one of the plants, the developing tomatoes have a darkened area on the bottom. Is this blossom end rot? If so, what can i do now? There are a lot of tomatoes on the plant, but the tomatoes are no where near ready to ripen. Is it too late? Do I need to remove these tomatoes? I planted the tomato plants approx 6 weeks ago and are already 4.5 to 5 feet tall. I'm guessing they're growing at an extremely fast rate.

I believe I have raspberry bushes all around my property. (I just recently moved here, so I'm not 100% sure)
The white blooms have just fallen off, but I don't see any signs of berries forming. Does anyone know when the berries start to appear after the bush blooms?

A few weeks ago I bought some Dahlias and one of them had this vibrant pink flower. I have a container garden so I potted it in regular potting soil. Watered as usual. It's doing fine except all of the new flowers that are coming up out of this same plant are a bright sunny yellow?! Is there some kind of additive or acidity need for dahlia I didn't know about? How can I get my pink flowers back?

I am clearing a lot of scrub and small trees from the wooded space behind my house. How do I best keep the weeds, scub from coming back? If I plant grass it will look like a prairie because I don't want to keep it cut like my yard. I don't know if wildflowers grow in the shade. I'd like to avoid the exprense of mulch. Any ideas?

I have a beautiful spot in the woods and I'd like to have a hole dug for a firepit. I see sitting around the pit on Thanksgiving with family and friends...maybe some snowflakes. So I'm high on the poetry but low on the nuts and bolts of building, and maintaining a pit.

Okay, I admit I need some help with my asparagus, I planted several last year and I have heard that you can begin to harvest at the end of the second year, right? I'm not sure how I'm supposed to be maintaining the plants because they are tall, thin and feathery. They don't look like anything I would want to eat. Do they really need sand in the soil, I have a little but not much? Should I be trimming them? Fertilizing them or doing something special, this is my first attempt at this plant.
