I planted day lillies and calla lillies in the early spring and they are coming up very nicely, but there are still no blooms on them yet. Is it just not time for them to bloom yet or did I do something wrong?

They may not be ready to bloom. I don't know what zone you are in so it is hard to tell. I'm in Oklahoma and my day lillies are in full bloom. Unfortunately I don't have calla lillies. Anyhow, try to be patient and see what happens. If they don't bloom this year they are sure to bloom next. Also, day lillies will bloom sun or shade so that should not be a factor.

Are there any buds appearing? If so, they will bloom usually within 3-5 days.

I'm in upstate New York, and my calla lily plant just started to bloom. There's one flower open so far. My day lillies have not even sprouted out of the ground yet. Day Lillies are late summer bloomers. Just be patient Regarding your calla lillies, keep 'em in direct sunlight and water them about every 3 days. You should see blooms soon. Hope this helps.

Depending on what type of daylilies you planted it may be a little early yet for them to bloom. I'm in zone 5 and my StellaDeOro's are the only ones really blooming fully at this time. Most of my other daylilies will peak bloom about mid-July and last into August.

I'm unable to help regarding your calla lilies ...

still early - depending on where you live - may not bloom this year if they went in too late

Janet has said it all. Be patient, even until next year.
