Hi, My neighbour has a ivy vine that has made it's way through my fence and ive had to pull out plants from my garden cause its overridden everything. Im in melbourne, australia, dont know what kind of ivy vine it is. Apparently it's been there for like 20 years and the people who used to live in my house have tried for years to get rid of it. I know it can be hard to get rid of but was hoping for some advice. Its just the vine and leaves over my fence, the roots of it are at the neighbours. Its coming in through in between the wooden palings of the fence. Can I put something on the fence to stop it. People have tried poisoning it without success and I dont want to use poisons as I have pets.

just bought a house with 2 acres in WI, steep incline on part (more than 45 degrees and mud under the grass). Tried a little (lowest model of riding style mower) john deere and it kept wanting to tip and it would loose traction on the hills What to do????? Prior owners had very expensive lawn service. Is there a machine I can get to tackle this task?? Thanks, Catherine

even without the recent heavy rain our back garden becomes water logged very easily, under the top soil is clay which holds the water in the winter but keeps the grass green all summer.is there anything we can add to the soil to improve the drainage,we've heard sand might help.any thoughts from fellow yahoo'ers would be most welcome.

of these high winds and give the tree at the bottom of my garden a good shove? My neighbours and I loathe it but it's got a preservation order on it. Shall we just push it over and claim it was an act of god?

I know not to touch spotty ones, and I know not to touch those whacky gold caps, but what about the ones that look relatively innocent, similar to the ones you buy from the supermarket except larger. Is there any sure way to know if they can be eaten?

It wasn't funny at the time, but I guess now 2 years later I can find a little humor in this.

My family used to have a house by the countryside...one day I accidentally stepped on fire ants, and they started crawling through all my clothes. I had to strip EVERYTHING off, and run about a mile back to my house!

Thankfully nobody was there to see this (i am very SHY), but it was in BROAD DAYLIGHT and there was a road right behind me that nobody ever used.

If you had been driving down that road that afternoon and saw me running back to my house...in the alltogether...and knew i was okay, what would you say or do to make me BLUSH the most?
