The Hedera ivy is a ground cover as well as a climber, they start the climbing stage as young juveniles, developing small aerial roots that cling to any surface, they have shiny leathery leaves with three to five lobes, when the ivie reaches the top of their supports, the plant developes stiff woody stems, become bushy with oval leaves, and produce clusters of pale green flowers followed by small black or purple poisonous berries.
