My girlfriend gives me roses sometimes and they always end up dying and never fully blooming. I use the flower food that comes with the roses. I began changing water daily. I cut the stem at an angle. Is there anything else I can do?

I have a large ficus tree. We have had really cold weather for us here, San Diego. The top of my tree shows frost damage and will have to be trimmed back. Should I trim now or wait until it warms up a lot more? Usually around 55 at night, has been down in the 40-30's.

I noticed that mold started to appear in areas like near my window. I had it cleaned but are there methods i can use to prevent this from occurring again? I don't want this to appear again and then have it cleaned. And i also don't want to cut down the trees around my house. Thanks.

As with many other people today, our fence has just been blown to bits. As I have 3 dogs, which collectively weigh about 100kgs, I want to know if a wooden fence would withstand them jumping at it or if a metal/wire fence would be more substantial?

I have a bananna tree that suffered through 3 days of below freezing temperatues . I live in Northern CA. Above ground all the stalks about 6 feet look dead. The frawns are brown and wilted. A few of the baby stakes that are around 1 foot still look alive.

So What should I do to the ones that look dead?

One friend suggested I just cut off the top where I want the head of the plant to grow. He said the root system is usually intact and will send up new shoots. Is this good advice?

Should I cut the head of later or now and where should I cut?

i have recentley contacted the council about a large tree on the road out side my house, there answer indicate that the problem stems from my small cherry blossom tree out side my house(which we are about to have taken down) and not theirs on the road side. They tell me that even though their tree is as tall as my house, its the the roots from the cherry blossom that are causeing the very large roots that are pulling up and damaging my drains and sewerage pipes. My insurance has now dealt with this problem but refuse to renew my insurance, they also tell me after inspection the roots are coming from the tree on the road, can anyone help, are cherry blossom roots bigger or not, or who can i go to for independent advise. Thanks.
