I have big dogs too.....about the same size as yours. I can't use wood as my climate is too dry and the wood shrinks. Wind is another concern. If you want to stay with wood, you have to reinforce it, the common construction just isn't enough. Reinforce everything with a backer board and perhaps even metal pipe.
Chain link is what I use and yes, it's not beautiful, but it is tough. Most of my guys don't climb, they do dig.....a concern for all fences. I've used electric wire around the top and bottom to discourage climbing and digging. After awhile they give up....well, most do.
Initially I put up chain link and then added the wooden inserts for privacy. The poles bent in a wind storm. Apparently the wooden inserts created a sail effect and the steel posts weren't thick enough.
Walls are wonderful but very expensive especially if you need to have a deep foundation.

a wrought iron or aluminum fence is 'strongest' and a chain link is the most resistant to repeated impacts - but a well designed food fence is fine - use heavier cross rails than normal and space the post closer
SORRY AT WORK
a good compromise is to combine materials use 4"x4" wood post with 2"x4" top and cross rails - cover with rectangular galvanized wire mesh and use 1"x4" uprights over the post and 1"x2" over the cross rails to hold the wire in place and make it look better - very strong and cheap fence that looks better than wire alone ( if you need more info e-mail and i will find you a diagram ( or just do a web search for wire/wood fence ) space the post 8' apart and you can use pre-cut lumber
IF DIGGING IS A PROBLEM very simple solution - just buy 2' wide wire mesh and lay it on the ground ( cut the grass real short first ) and then staple it in place ( they sell large staples at garden centers to anchor ground coverings ) the grass will grow through it and the mower will not pull it up - last for years and is 100% effective ( it will not be visible if you do it right and will prevent the rut that dogs make running along the fence )

With wooden fences it depends on how much you are willing to pay for them. They come in all manner of styles sizes and strength. If all you want a fence for is to keep your dogs in your garden, a galvanised chain link fence will do the job perfectly, provided the posts are strong, and the wire is fixed firmly to the ground all the way along, remember your dogs dig too.

A wooden fence would be sufficient as long as it's built properly. If you get thicker fence planks, and set the vertical support beams about 6' to 8' apart in a deep (14-18") concrete footing, it should be fine...
Wire fences are lousy, and look ugly.

I prefer iron with brick pillars but it would depend on your house and yard. I think the colored chain link fences look much better than the silver ones. A green chain link with clematis and roses growing up it looks pretty good. I definitely would not recommend vinyl fencing--I work in a factory that makes the stuff.

I'm taking that these dogs are the mastiffs or the dane breed? If so can tell you from experience you need a metal/wire chain linked fence. about six feet high, no joke. They jump them easily. My dane stood seven feet on his hind legs, we liked to have never kept him in the yard.

um, the wooden fence should work good. Just put some wire on the top of it.. if your dogs do jump it they will learn their lesson. Even tought it is sad seeing them get hurt... but they won't jump it again.

There were so many woodworking plans with this collection and you will not believe this but there are over thousands plans in the one package deal. Go here https://tr.im/s4dUV
This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.
