It set fruit in early september and has grown to 18" across, but here in the northeast it is now too late and too cold to develop any further. It is only off-white.

What can I do to bring about the typical dark orange color?

Just bought a small fig tree from Homebase and it looks healthy. Am I likely to get any fruit from it? There were a couple of dead figs on the compost but they could have been from being cultivated in a green house so I am not sure.

I like in the UK.

I have three mature mimosa trees(20ft tall) that are planted too close to the house and are blocking the light. I want to move them. Will they survive? Does anyone know the best way to go about this?

Does anyone know the correct body to report a dodgy garden service. I paid up front (I know how stupid am I), it was a 2 part job: Part 1 was to clear up the garden and bag it all up, part 2 was to get a van to remove the refuse. He did part one promising to come back the next day to remove the refuse. After 4 scheduled pick up times he never turned up, always with some lame excuse. Eventually the bagged up refuse was killing my grass so I said I would arrange a "man with a van" but I wanted a refund for the work the guy didnt do. He agreed, now I am having the same run around trying to get my money out of him. Its been 3 "next weeks" and I am seeing red, how hard is internet banking?. Who can I report him to? Its not a lot of money but I hate being ripped off!

Any help?

I bought some (Premier) blueberry bushes after i read on the tag 'Partial Sun/Full Shade". I thought that "full shade" meant no sun. Anyway i planted two bush about 5 feet apart and it just so happens that one bush get about 4 hours of sun while the other might get 1 hour. The one in the sun seems to be growing. while the other is not. They have been planted about a month now. Should I dig up the shaded bush and replant it?

I mean, isn't there a way to calculate this with a given quantity of water passing through a given amount of soil to determine its porosity by timing it and then using a standard scale? (Or something like this.) I want to decide whether or not to lighten soil by adding sand or compost to it or make it more dense by adding topsoil.

My new house has a water fountain in the back yard on a timer, i've never had one before. Does anyone know what your suppose to do to protect a fountain pump from freezing besides removing all of the water? I don't know, maybe that's not good either! Any advise?

i have grown a lovely lawn in the last year and now it is nearly ruined through ants. it is all patchy after i have cut it and looks like a rugby pitch, full of little holes all over that resemble something like football boot stud marks. what can i put on my lawn to get rid of the ants without damaging the grass?

Last year they started bring home bags of wood chips to build up there yard. We have small yards. between the houses is about 60 feet. My house sets lower anyway, but now they are building up the yard so the rain water drains into my sidewalk. Which floods and come in my back door. It is a small back room which has heat and electric I use it for storage and a laundry. Help. I need something cheap I can do myself.
