My daughter has her first case of poison oak/ivy. Because of her work, letting the area breathe is out of the question 12 hours a day. Does anyone know a quick fix for the itching? I know the rash must run its course, but maybe there is something that helps battle the itch.

All advice is appreciated!

My lawn has hard claylike soil and I want to aerate it. I searched for info and have seen differing opinions on the effectiveness of the shoes. But, I don't want to go to the expense of buying or renting a machine because I don't have that big of a yard.

We received a electric lawn mower as a gift (it's a second hand mower) my husband has been using it for several months. The only way he can use it without cutting the electrical cord is pushing and pulling the mower with one hand while pulling, pushing, picking the cord with the other. I think it takes double the time cutting the lawn with this machine....is there a tip that you can give us? maybe something we don't know, like a retractable electrical cord...I don't know....something that you can use to be able to push the machine with both hands

We are building a 12' x 24' deck that is on a slight hill. The end near the house (this is a detached, free-standing deck) will be about a foot off the ground. The other end of the deck will be about 3 feet off the ground.

I was thinking about putting river rock under the entire deck (which could cost a bit). My wife was thinking of lattice all the way around the deck... I dislike the look of lattice to enclose the space beneath a low-to-the-ground deck.

Have you seen any other ideas that will look really nice?

It is very upsetting. I planted them in the wrong spot because I did not know that the sunflowers would NOT move with the sun. I just found out they LOCK EAST when mature. I planted them to enjoy them from the West and I really would like to FORCE them to face West without damaging the plant. Help!! Thanks.
