I have beautiful african mahogony planks that I have cut from 4x4's 6x6's 8x8's 10x10's and 12x12's. Before I put them down on the deck foundation i want to stain and water proof etc. Does anyone know the proper way to do this and make sure it stays beautiful for a long long time.

I have a slight leak coming in though my siding where the there should have been a flashing. I'd like to use some foam spray adhesive on a couple of spots to stop it. Can I use this stuff for outside use and what brand is the best for this job.

I just want the disposable type not the type that comes with a gun handle.

I've seen tabletop fountains with fog, im assuming dry ice. I'm making a fountain and I wanted the bottom of it to have a mist or a fog around it to resemble clouds. How do I do that, just dump some dry ice in it?

I stick up posters on my wall but after a while they start flopping off. Does anyone have some tricks on how to get them to stay. Is there something better i can use other than blue-tack that won't ruin the walls so much ?

My five year old is about to turn six and I would like to make one for her. I know It can't be hard, I really just need to know what goes in the middle. It'd have to be something tall enough to make each side go pretty high.

Running a line to the camper would cost over $700 so buying a quiet (hopefully propane) generator seems like a better idea but I don't know how to size it.

I recently bought a multi-tier bird bath made of concrete for my backyard.

I was certain (100%) that the base and main dish were level. What I found was the other tier sections have unlevel bottoms.

I am looking for stabalizing material - like caulk - to both level the sections and stabalize them if I can get them totally perfect.

The material I am looking for is similar or the same as the type of material that monument companies use to attach marble or metal vases to monuments in cemetary locations. (Sounds gross I know, but it must work because EVERY monument seems to use the same stuff.)

Thanks in advance!

My husband and I have just brought a block of vacant land and are interested in ideas for a small but cheap home to build ...is there a site that lists all the different materials available. We are thinking something different to your basic brick home. We like mud brick if you have any info on that?

I just had three old aluminum windows replaced with custom fitted vinyl, double-pane insulated ones but I continue to feel a bit of a draft in the area beneath the window to the floor. Is this normal or have my windows not been measured correctly? The brochure they gave me after installation says its normal to feel cool air because that's the warm air inside bouncing off the cold window and then re-circulating. But I'm not sure?

Say I wanted to soundproof a small container (about 1 cubic foot) so sound cannot escape the container. How would I go about doing this?

Is it possible to soundproof (or at least soften the sound) it with material that still allows me to see into the box?

It is okay if the material just softens the sound and doesn't eliminate it.

I have some 12x12 marble tile that I want to cut down to 4x4 pieces to use in a shower stall.

1) Can i use a nipper tool on marble.

2) Whats the best way to cut curves in marble tile? I guess I can do this somehow with a wet saw.

3) Can I use a normal hole saw to cut the few holes I will need?

4) I need to put a flat edge on these smaller cut pieces for the grout. And some pieces will need to be rounded at the edge of the shower stall. Can I use a rotary tool and diamond bits? If so which bits to use? Would I also need that attachment guide that is used for routing bits?
