I need to make it out of drywall! It's in my kitchen behind the sink. it has about a 1" ledge before it drops to the counter. How would i make this window sill. O, p.s. i dont want an overhang, i want it flush.

Just cut the dry wall to fit. and put your bead board on the edge. Finish as usual.

You might be happier if you covered it with wood or plastic to hold small plants.

I'll assume the window itself is framed in studs. You can cut/rip or purchase an approriate size piece of lumber, Pine/Fir/Spruce.

What you don't state is... The window is it not flush now, with the interior wall? Is there no sill at all, as in newly installed? 1 inch ledge? Is that the depth of the window into the interior wall? or the drop to the counter?
Why must it be drywall? Certainly other substances would be more substantial, as easy to install, and finish just as well?

If it has to be flush you should still use corner edging as is used on drywall walls for exterior corners, unless you use tile with a bullnose edge.

I think you should go to the library, or book store to see what's involved. It's a fairly easy job, but if done wrong you can get some major water damage.
