There are many different types of timers available for bath ventilation fans.

I would recommend a fan delay timer switch for this application:

The Home Ventilation Insitute recommends that bathroom exhaust fans run for a min. of 15 minutes after each use. The above referenced switch will automatically run the fan for the predetermined time set and automatically shut the fan off.

Yes there is. You can buy timers for about anything. I had timers on a gas log fireplace, after a hour the gas flame would go out. It was in a rental unit and the gas was getting expensive. Just go to a home improvement store.

I've been in rooms where the lights were on timers, why not the fan, right?

for sure as long as your fan is on a seperate switch or the light will go off as well, you can use the same type that is used for heat lamps in tub areas,i would consult an electrician unless you are handy with electric, like i said as long as your fan is on a seperate switch you should be fine, personally i would go to an electric supply house rather than your super home center they will have a better selection and more knowledge,my best opinion is unless you know what your doing with electric ,always consult a professional..good luck Bill

particular. trouble is which you like a stay feed and a couple of distinctive switched lives going lower back up. likely it exchange into put in with only 1 switched stay. Use the switched stay for the sunshine because of the fact the feed for the fan factor of the change, and you will nonetheless kill the fan whilst the sunshine is became off. whilst you're fortunate, then the greater cord is needed in ordinary terms between the change and the fan isolator.
