I have a slight leak coming in though my siding where the there should have been a flashing. I'd like to use some foam spray adhesive on a couple of spots to stop it. Can I use this stuff for outside use and what brand is the best for this job.

I just want the disposable type not the type that comes with a gun handle.

"Great Stuff" would be your best bet, but use the "windows and doors" type, because the "Gap filler" type could push your siding out.

If exposed to UV light (the sun) it will not hold up. We just had our steel building coated by a spray foam company and they applied a spray on rubber (poly-urea) on top of the foam to prevent the decay.

I have sprayed the can foam myself and anyplace that the sun get to , it turns brown and falls off very easy.

Go the the QA section at spray foam and ask this question and you will get the actual contractors around the country opinions that do nothing but foam.

We found great information from our contractor as well as a public forum that is about the foam insulation

Both the first two are correct and number 1 offers a valid clue as to application. It's worth the nominal cost even in any that you waste.

The expansion is at least as advertised on the can, perhaps triple or more the size of the amount dispensed, and can push many things out of its way.

It pretty much can last as long as the house might, but it isn't strictly an adhesive.

I used the can of "great stuff" 20 years ago and it is still holding

practice cause it sprays fast and expands

I cheated and sprayed it on wood and used knife to fill in
