My walls are a royal blue with white trim. We have a light colored hardwood floor and were thinking about getting a dark brown leather sofa with nailhead trim. I am also eyeing a red shag rug to throw into the mix. It's not a bright bright red but not burgundy either. I was thinking about bringing these three colors together but don't know if it will clash. If it doesn't, where would I begin with curtains?? Solids, stripes, dots?? I want long curtains and my husband wants more of a cabin theme but I'm not sure that will work with this color scheme. Any help is appreciated.

Have bought the bathroom suite already (sink, bath and toilet only). How much approximately for LABOUR to fit it and re-tile from floor to ceiling, and tile the floor. I mean very rough estimate say within the nearest £500. And it's quite a small bathroom.

I've got a large wall hanging (though it can also be used as just a bedspread so there's no tabs or anything for hanging, it's just like a blanket) of size around 100 inches by 80, not too heavy material.

Just wondering what's the best thing to buy to hang it up (pins, sticky somethings, something else)... I'm looking for things I can get in UK shops like WH Smith, Woolworths, etc...

Don't reply if you're not going to say anything useful.

Carpet glue with extremely strong odour, carpet being laid on ground floor in old building converted to flats, can smell odour on 4th floor through closed doors.

People who have a fair idea in these matters could you advise me if this carpet glue is likely to be toxic to residents?

Can't seem to find contact email for COSHH re workplace, not sure if this will cover people living in privately rented flats.

Do you think the Environmental Health people at the local council will be bothered to investigate the matter? For UK residents.

Grately appreciated if you indicate your source. Many thanks

I'm thinking about buying a two bed flat that has a large reception room. I could get a wall built dividing the reception room in two so that it would then have three bedrooms. Is this something that is likely to be forbidden though?

The landlord says that any paint we use has to be a shade of white.. ie: Pale colors. The color up already is a weird clay color.. rather gross actually. We have a brown shaded carpet..splotches of darker browns and cremes...
My fiance prefers blues, I like neutrals and then a splash of color..such as cherry red, or burnt orange. We have a bedroom, living room, and a "reading" room to paint. All are fairly small.. bedroom and "reading" room are 10 X 10 feet..and the living room is 9 x 17 feet, with a weird corner. Our furniture basically matches the flooring.

I need a new power outlet in the kitchen on an existing finished outside wall. I can put a small hole in the wall to insert a box. I can run the wire up through the wall from below. But I can not get inside the wall to nail the box to a stud, and I want to support the box somehow. How can I support the box if I just work from the kitchen side of the wall?

I've seen many people using a booklet that has a single attachment point and has thousands of colors to chose paint colors for their real estate investments. I'm trying to find out where I can get one. Thanks in advance.

My kitchen cabinets have this plain unopened wood area above the actual cabinetry. It actually looks like the retro version of lighted cabinetry most people use to display different things within. I am not into all this excessive clutter of Knic Knacs hanging in every area of space. There isn't much lighting in the small kitchen but I need some decoration that looks clean and simply yet sophisticated and elegant. Also, I am really clueless on how to decorate a section of the cabinets that extend over the kitchen bar area which is also apart of the kitchen/dining room combo. This massive wood area has left the place feeling undone. The two answers I am in need of will have to not include painting the wood!!
