I have a steam iron with a teflon coated base, which has some synthetic cloth (from my mattress) that is stuck to it. It is a big hassle because some of it comes off every time I iron some other article of clothing, and stains it. Is there a product available to remove it (preferably without scratching the teflon), or some other home remedy / chemical which one can use? Any kind of help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Okay, So, I like to wash my clothes by themselves...I HATE it when my parents try to wash my clothes. Anyway, Today, I had a huge batch, and after I washed it, I put everything on hangers and hung everything up (i don't dry my clothes)...Anyway, I noticed that on this yellow t-shirt...around the neck and a spot below that...they had this...pinkish reddish stuff. Then, I noticed on another white t-shirt...it had a pink spot on the back that I SWEAR wasn't there before. Anyone have a secret on getting stains out, b/c I have no idea what this is, and I know it's just two t-shirts, but I'd like to get it out if I can. HELP ME! Should I wash them on hot...to get the stain out...or use something on them. Anyway, ten points to the best advice!

I've tried water and window cleaning solutions but they don't work. The marks are from pieces of furniture sliding against the wall and most of them are black.

My husband and I both hate clutter and both hate our apartment being messy and disorganized, yet we are the worst culprits. We both *try* to keep it clean and neat, but with a hyperactive 4 year old and a 1 year old baby, it seems to always be a mess, which adds to my stress level and to my depression. We can't seem to find a system that will work for us because of the fact that our children are so high needs and there's very little time to ourselves to begin with.

Can anyone suggest any good books (or preferrably websites) that can help us learn how to become and stay organized? Many of the ones I've seen sound perfect and easy enough....but only if there is no children in the household

I recently spilled gasoline on one of my shirts and then made the mistake of putting it in with a regular load of laundry. I now have the gas smell in everything that was in that load.
What can I do to get it out?

I have no carpets or drapes -- only tile floors and fake wood blinds. I sweep and mop constantly. But my son is horribly allergic to dust and it keeps coming back. Does anyone know of a product I can spray on floors, behind furniture, etc., to stop the dust from forming? Or at least slow it down? Or should I just replace the whole AC unit. Expensive, but worth it if it works. The question is, will it?

I thought it might be caused by not running it at full temperature (to be ecologically friendly) but that didn't help. The manufacturer said refer to the detergent makers but the detergent makers said nothing at all.

my textbook is paperback and it has thin pages, so it might be hard to hang up in order to air it out. I know febreeze works to get smoke smell out of clothing, but it's a liquid spray, not aerosol based, so what can I use/should I do?

so, I'm washing my laundry now, and am in a little bit of a pickle. I am not sure what load to put a pair of underwear in. They look similar to the "ice cream scoop": http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/application/prodDisplay/?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=ZU-204225&page=1&cgname=OSPTYPINPNT&rfnbr=1940

now, should I put it in lights, or darks? I'm confused because it's basically white, but there's like hot pink, and orange on it also. PLEASE HELP! :)

The city's sewer water backed up into our brick cellar. We've closed off the drain, and we've cleaned up most of the water with a shop vac. Does anyone have ANY idea how to get rid of this nasty stench?

I would REALLY appreciate any suggestions you may have!!
