if it is an old washer, there might be rusting going on.
I would try a load with just hot water and some bleach..1-2 cups....
then try another pice of rag and wash it and see what happens.if it is stil spotted,.... then
You might have to replace the drum..
If you wash heavily oiled clothes in the washer there might be some residue left in it... If that is the cause buy some go-jo it is a degreaser to clean mechanics hands and put some in the washer with some hot water and run it a cycle......
One hint is , when you are done washing your laundry, leave the lid open , so the inside of the maching can dry properly for a day before closing it. less chance of it getting rusty...

This used to happen to me!!!! I was married to a mechanic and the grease and oil caused those spots. I tried everythin from grease relief to bleach to baking soda in an empty wash cycle. I never could get the spots to go away. I divorced the guy and bought a new washer.

they sound like rust stains to me, and that they won't come out. you ought to objective a colour-secure bleach on the spots or peroxide--yet attempt an inconspicous section of the garment first for colorfastness. likely it is from the washing gadget. heavily learn the washing gadget's drum for nicks that ought to disclose bare steel providers to rust. An equipment shop could have a dash-up paint kit which will conceal those spots. solid success.

My daughter kept complaining of that, and it ended up being mildew from damp clothes not being washed for too long a time. Mildew makes small black dots on clothing that won't wash out without bleach. Just a thought.

Run a regular cycle with hot water and 2 cups of vinegar (no clothes). The vinegar will clean the washer and the drain.
