There are sprays and traps (these sit in the corner of windows). Problem is, flies lay eggs and continue to be a problem. Good screens and not opening doors when not necessary will help keep them out. I hang a baggie half filled with water outside my doors. The wind moves the water and helps keep them away from the doorways.

Light a candle or two. That's what my mom does when these uninvited guests drop by at dinner and before you know it they are gone.
